LOL...I used to have a beautifully restored '66 MGB, and I know exactly what you mean...Mine had "all the options" including an ash tray, leather seats, AM radio, lap belts and a heater core that generated just enough BTU's that on a cold day, I would have my choice of warmth or a defogged windscreen. It took an origami expert to get the roof on, and which, when assembled, kept about 80% of the rain off the driver.

I loved that little car precisely because it made you REALLY appreciate open air motoring on a beautiful day!
