If we are in Carter II (and I have vivid memories of Carter I) then pretty soon we will have a beef shortage. I remember having to buy hamburger diluted with soy in order to feed my family within my budget. Steaks were out of the question.
I also expect a return of gas lines and high winter fuel prices. And a real spike in interest rates for home mortgages.
Let's get that Misery Index up and running!

beef shortage
I remember those years, too.
The shortages actually started under Nixon/Ford.
Paper, antifreeze, sugar, gasoline, etc.
Under Carter, interest rates were in the 18% vicinity. The company I worked for at the time began having salary COLAs every 3 months just to keep pace with price increases.
Never thought we'd see 18% interest rates again -- but we likely will. Never thought we'd see 1.8% interest rates we have now. lol
