I wanted to write a post on that business industry study showing that the Houses global warming bill will bludgeon the economy, but its simply too depressing/enraging after a long week of depression and rage. Have at it in the comments if you can muster the energy. Instead, since we havent had a good religion food fight in a while, enjoy stalwart lefty Ed Schultz discovering the joys of faith-based politics.
Its a testament to how vile the lefts rhetoric has become, especially when mouthed by MSNBCs primetime line-up of demagogues, that this line of attack comes off as comparatively genteel. Although maybe thats due in part to Schultzs guests here not barfing up the talking points hes expecting. Take a page from Olbermann, Ed: Make sure to screen the guests for total ideological conformity before you put them on the air. That way there are no surprises.
My very strong suspicion is that if I posted this on a lefty site, all the Christians there would say yes, of course Jesus wants universal health care. As it is, opinion among Christians here will be unanimous that he doesnt or that hed have no opinion (render unto Caesar, etc.) Exit question: Arent the lefties right?

Ask it the proper way. Would Jesus want us to vote for a government to do what WE should be doing so that we don’t have to get our hands dirty? Liberals define generosity and compassion by how much of other peoples’ money they are willing to spend on THEIR projects.

Schultz also said that conservatives want to see Obama shot. He’s irresponsible, and doesn’t appear to have a brain in his head.
Just like when they lost in 2004 and they all jumped in front of cameras and started quoting bible verses, these people are insulting the intelligence of the voters but I’m not sure they’ll get away with it this time.
I wouldn’t worry about the voters, I would worry about failing into the hands of an angry god.

I don't see a monlithic "single-payer" in that testimony anywhere. I do see that the abandomnent of religion will necessitate the rise of a "Leviathan," which has always been understood to be secular state of limitless ambition to control, which drives civilization into a miserable, murderous chaos, in which state the world finds itself in when Jesus returns.
