Bill Clinton Celebrates His Birthday....Without Hillary
El Vocero de Puerto Rico (Spanish-language article) ^ | August 11, 2009 | EFE

(English-language translation)

Washington - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who will turn 63 on August 19, celebrated his birthday in advance and to the hilt in an exclusive Las Vegas restaurant where a 225-gram [8-ounce] "wagyu" veal steak costs $240.

The one person conspicuously missing was Hillary Clinton, who is touring Africa and who missed the gathering which some Washington heavyweights attended, such as John Podesta who was [White House] Chief of Staff during Clinton's presidency.

The former President, who yesterday was one of the main speakers at a renewable-energy conference in Las Vegas, aroused suspicion among the press when he started to greet old friends who had no special interest in these types of forums.

In addition to Podesta, there was Hollywood magnate and good friend Steve Bing who lent him a private airplane for a recent humanitarian mission to North Korea in which the former President was able to secure the release of two American journalists who Pyongyang had detained.

His old friend Terry McAuliffe, a golf partner and former leader of the Democratic National Committee, also attended the party, as well as his former political advisor Paul Begala and Hollywood executive Haim Saban.

Former Vice President Al Gore, with whom Clinton had his ups and downs in the past, did not stay for the reunion.

Gore directs the television network the two journalists released by Pyongyang work for, an episode which appears to have renewed ties between him and Bill Clinton, but seemingly not enough.

Otherwise, few details have surfaced of the gathering at the Craftsteak Restaurant located at the MGM Grand Hotel, which recalls the famous saying, "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".

My wife and I saw the outburst in the TV news. She commented to me that Hillary looked drunk.

She looked like the heat was getting to her. I’ll bet the arm still bothers her as well.

Tacky old men with hookers who “look up to them” - that ‘s my guess. Among this group, Gore is the best - and he’s nuts.

Who wants to be around short fat ugly women on their birthday, when they have Lewinsky’s private phone number.

Bill Clinton in his glory, fresh from a media triumph in N. Korea celebrating his birthday in Vegas while Hillary is in the armpit of Africa.

I don't if this has been brought up yet, but what if instead of Bill Clinton celebrating a birthday in Vegas without his wife, it was former President Bush? The media would be all over it gleefully salivating.

But hey, it's Bubba, so it's all cool. That lovable horndog up to his old tricks./s

I guess his tastes (and finances) have improved from the many Big Macs of his early presidency..:^)

The words “celebrate” and “Hillary” do not belong together in the same sentence.
