After nine years in the Marine Corps, I realized that the Corps does combat very well, but everything else is waste, fraud and abuse!

When I see a former officer say that he “handled a million dollar budget” - I KNOW he means, “I spent OVER a million dollars a year, every year, whether we needed the stuff purchased or not - it was SPENT!” Because if you spend less than you did last year, you get the lesser amount the next year! So, every year the units spend every single penny allotted to avoid getting less the next fiscal year!

Fraud, waste and abuse are the ONLY things the government does well.

It’s internet interference from a George Soros funded, ACORN / White House run, program to monitor FR and those that post and visit here.

Smile, you're on candid internet . . . .

You've won a all expense paid trip to a vacation resort on the outskirts of Cleveland. Complete with your own personal tour guide to help you navigate the wonders or Socialism.

At the end of your stay you will be given an evaluation form. Please fill it out properly or you will receive another all expense paid trip, this time to a wonderful resort in the Nevada desert . . . .

Now I don't think the ladies and gentlemen down at my local post office are gonna like this very much at all.

See, there were alot of changing hope bambi signs all over, in front of, and around the post office last election cycle.
Now they didn't put those signs up they said, but were happy about them being there.

I understand better now that they're still happy, it's just that like bambi says...the post office is always having problems...

but not fedex or ups...

Goods points all....But whether “O” misspoke (regarding the Post office and UPS/FedEx), is meaningless. The Health Bill ultimately bans us from continuing use of our private insurance. If WE (or the Insurer)make any changes to our existing policies, we are FORCED into the Gov System.
So to carry "O's" example further, it matters little what UPS/FedEx does because any changes in their programs means we are AUTOMATICALLY FORCED to start using the Post Office for your shipments.
Rewarding incompetence, while eliminating competition...The Health Care Bill has something for everyone!!

LOL!

Yes the USPS vs FedEx et all is a great example of why the government must stay clear of services that are better handled by the private sector.

Imagine how much money we could all save if we no longer had to carry the USPS.

Bunch of people have them over at zazzle.com.
Sorry, no direct link to the merchandise handy, but a search there should turn up several.

Excellent point, and (as I just discovered today) via Powerline Blog, we ARE forced to use the USPS.

It is against the law for anyone other than the USPS to carry “non-urgent” mail. The private shippers, UPS and FedEx, are only allowed to ship urgent/priority items. I did not know this. Even with that monopoly, and taxpayer subsidies, the USPS is pretty much broke. Shocking, I know.

Think of government-run health care as your “non-urgent” health care system, and of your private options (including out-of-pocket care) for your “urgent” needs. Once private insurance has been bankrupted, by definition, all health care remaining will be “non-urgent” — just like the National Health Service in Great Britain. Don’t you feel better now? Of course, they could outlaw or penalize out-of-pocket care (again, as they do in Great Britain). Britons who need urgent care or unavailable medicines usually solve the issue by going to the Continent and getting what they need. Of course, they keep quiet about because there are penalties for that sort of thing under the NHS.

To paraphrase another Freeper: politics is not a spectator sport, but it should be.
