More from that PPP poll: That high number of North Carolinians who say Obama wasnt born in the United States is largely built on white voters. Thirty percent of white voters say Obama is foreign-born, 49 percent say he was born in the United States, and 21 percent dont know.

Why did they use North Carolina as an example? Were they hoping to prove some point about Southerners? NC is so full of Yankee transplants to the Triangle and the coast, as well as illegal laborers, that native NCer’s are in the demographic minority now.

Don’t forget about Charlotte — the vast majority of people in Charlotte working in Financial Services are transplants as well.

I’m one of the 80% of informed and somewhat educated, non koolaid drinking NC whites that believes Zero never had enough experience to run this nation, destroy it, yes.

Having always lived in NC, most North Carolinians born and raised in the state would be considered hard line blue dog democrats.

Maybe I'm just the eternal optimist, but when I read this summary, I jump past the attempt to frame it as a race issue and instead see simply that 46% of the population of North Carolina is not sure Mr. Obama is Constitutionally qualified to be president. 46%! Wow! Seems like I've seen stories posted here regarding similar polling in other states that was similar to this one. That's much higher than the national average of 23% Salon arrived at. You've got a serious problem when nearly half the nation isn't sure you're qualified for your job ... especially when you refuse all attempts to settle the matter.

The other 49%, meanwhile, continue to wait on line for their cup of Kool Aid.
