As this cometary "grit" strikes our atmosphere, it burns up, often creating streaks of light across the sky.

Thanks...will be on the alert.
This thread just brought back memories of the day my mother died 13 yrs ago, August 11, 1996. That night was one of the biggest meteor showers that I have ever seen. I hope I see them again.
Of course, in the Pacific Northwest, it’s going to be overcast with rain showers. Seems like it happens every year about this time. Sure wish I were in Arizona right now. I have property in North Central Arizona that has very little light pollution. However, my job keeps me away from there at the moment.
Right on my birthday!
Central Arizona is expecting partly cloudy Wednesday night, and mostly cloudy with showers Thursday night.
If given a choice between Arizona and the Pacific Northwest, I’d take the northwest, east of the Cascades.
Happy Birthday!
I hope you have a Starry Night of birthday fun!
