If you’re asking about the Certification of Live Birth, I’m not too sure. But what’s even more interesting to me lately are the many ways a birth certificate ‘record’ could be entered into SOH official records in 1961.

Clearly, a family keenly interested in keeping a son with his unwed mother, vs. his Kenyan father, could have had a vested interest in Barack’s US citizenship, no matter the means. And if the means were readily available, why not? Given a choice between Kenyan, British or US citizenship, I think the Dunham’s chose US as the best option for their grandson.
