Straw-man arguments are getting old

CNN: The Senate’s second-ranking Democrat slammed recent town hall protests Sunday as organized disruptions of the democratic process.
“We have these screaming groups on either side. That isn't helpful. Let's be honest about this. Town meetings are not bean bag, I've had hundreds of them and sometimes folks get upset. And that's part of America, part of our process,” Sen. Dick Durbin told CNN’s John King on “State of the Union.”
“But this is clearly being orchestrated and these folks have instructions. They come down from a Texas lobbyist in Washington…" he said.

But the identical, union-printed signs, tee-shirts and bullhorns are “natural”?
War.
He just doesn’t seem to get that the main thing I’m pissed about is “being orchestrated”!

I’d say this explains the eruption of anger at town-hall meetings fairly clearly. “Leah” from New Hampshire says she “just wants to clarify a few things about these manufactured angered crowds,” but instead delivers a manifesto that explains the rise of the Tea Party movement in general. Politico reporter Manu Raju and C-SPAN’s Washington Journal host Rob Harrell get an earful and an education:

The destruction of our country via the Administration and Congress is being orchestrated. Ya think?
When the so called “health care” passes - and doctors are powerless - and our employers are powerless - and we can’t appeal to insurance companies that need our business - WE’LL be left with one option to get the medical care we need for a loved one - fall in line - and kiss up to any corrupt dem who has the power to give out “favors”.

Sorry, the press is incapable of seeing preprinted signs and union workers who don't even know why they're at the meeting ... they don't see dem crimes - they see Republican jaywalking.

Are citizens peacebly assembled, however the assembly is called together, doing something wrong?
Senator Durbin, we have an ABSOLUTE right to do every legal thing to defeat you and your schemes, INCLUDING "orchestrating" peaceful and legal protests against you.
So, I repeat, with regard to "orchestrated" protests, SO WHAT?
Can’t wait until 2010 when we ‘orchestrate’ these Dem fools right off the stage in DC. Too bad we are not getting paid for it-— someone would have to fork over a ton of $$ to pay ALL of us involved if that was the case instead of the big fat lie spewed from the egoist aristocrats of DC.
Prove it. You made the accusation Dims, where is your proof? The burden of proof rest with the accusers, not the accused.
We'll never have the natural equality that comes from the ability to say "my money is as green as yours" Nope. Those days are over.
Now it'll be Who YOU KNOW - and how well you're connected - and if you're "grateful enough"...

Actually if the congress critters would get off their scripted talking points and actually answer questions and tell the truth the meetings would be useful. But NO. These critters have been given their orders from SEIU - ACORN - Pelosi - Reid and the ONE and only - Obambi!
Durbin, among many, many others, needs an “orchestrated” foot or two placed up his arse.
So, HAVE A TOWNHALL, DICK.
The President of the United States makes the choice to attack a way of life that millions have enjoyed for decades, and for which many have laid down their lives, and this causes what might fairly be described as a general uprising of ordinary people. Because millions of people perceive the threat and feel moved to express themselves in ways explicitly protected by the Constitution of the United States, which he has sworn to preserve protect and defend, their actions are illegitimate and disreputable because they are "orchestrated?"
What a clod.
As Rush has stated on at least one recent occaision, "well, we've finally found something that the Democrats will go to war against: the American People."
