Truth Is Stranger than Friction - 6 Proofs ObamaCare Includes Abortion & what to do about it
Family Research Council ^ | August 7, 2009 | Tony Perkins

Posted on 08/09/2009 7:35:20 AM PDT by cpforlife.org

If FRC is the “fear machine” MSNBC says we are, then the side we're scaring must be the Left. All week long, our new health care ad has been the bee in these liberals’ bonnets. Groups like NARAL, Planned Parenthood, Sojourners, and Catholics United are desperately trying to claw their way back into the health care debate after losing credibility on the abortion question. Our campaign to expose the abortion implications in health care “reform” has been so influential that one organization called us “the single greatest threat to the passage of health care reform.” Why? Because the Left can say abortion is not a part of the health care legislation—but FRC can prove it is. Here's how:

1. The House bill specifically includes it. The Capps amendment explicitly allows abortion coverage in the public health plan and subsidizes health plans that cover abortion. (Passed 30-28 in the House Energy and Commerce Committee, July 30)

2. Senate Democrats admit it. “[The health care bill] would include, uh, it would include, uh, Planned, uh, Parenthood clinics.” (Sen. Barbara Mikulski, July 9, Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions-HELP-Committee meeting-Planned Parenthood is the No. 1 U.S. abortion chain.)

3. Senate Democrats refused to ban it.
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah): “Madam Chairman, would you be willing to put some language in [about] not including abortion services? Then I think you would have more support.”
Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.): “...No, I would not, uh, be willing to do that at this time.” (July 9, Senate HELP Committee meeting)

4. The mainstream media confirms it. (”Government insurance would allow coverage for abortion,” Associated Press, August 5, 2009).

5. The Obama administration includes it in its definition of reproductive health care.
“Reproductive health care includes access to abortion.” (Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, July 19)

6. Every amendment to exclude it from health care legislation was defeated by the liberal sponsors. The following is a list of pro-life amendments that would have prevented abortion funding or prohibited abortion mandates for covered services. (For vote tallies and details, see our complete list at www.frc.org.)

•Rep. Sam Johnson Amendment in the Ways and Means Committee (July 16)

•Rep. Eric Cantor Amendment in the Ways and Means Committee (July 16)

•Rep. Mark Souder Amendment in the Education and Labor Committee (July 17)

•Rep. Joe Pitts Amendment in the Energy and Commerce Committee (July 30)

•Reps. Bart Stupak and Pitts Amendment in Energy and Commerce Committee (July 31)

•Sen. Orrin Hatch Amendment #227 in the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee (July 13)

•Sen. Mike Enzi Amendment #277 in the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee (July 13)

On Family Issues, It's a Small World After All

While FRC confronts the steady stream of anti-family policy at home, two members of our senior staff are headed to Amsterdam to help other countries do the same. Peter Sprigg, Senior Fellow for Policy Studies, and Dr. Pat Fagan, Senior Fellow and Director of FRC’s Center for Research on Marriage and Religion, are helping to lead a delegation of pro-family U.S. organizations to the fifth World Congress of Families. On August 10, Dr. Fagan will also be addressing the conference during the Monday 4:00-6:00 p.m. session (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET) on “The Effects of Child Care for the Social and Psychological Development of Children.” You can hear his presentation—and more—by tuning in to the live audio and video webcast, available online during the Congress at http://www.worldcongress.org.

Watch Dr. Fagan’s Presentation Live on Monday

Don't Miss This Week's Show!

On Washington Watch Weekly, we'll hear the real life stories of people affected by government-run health care. I'll speak with Matt Bowman, legal counsel at the Alliance Defense Fund, about the case of a New York City nurse who was forced to assist on an abortion procedure. Later, I'll speak with Dr. Bill Toffler, Executive Director of Physicians for Compassionate Care. He'll explain how Oregon's government-run health care plan denies patients treatment and instead offers them assisted suicide. That’s funny. “What to ask your congressman at the next Town Hall meeting.”
Well, for my congressman Moore there isn’t any meeting. There isn’t anything other than a health care survey.

If there is going to be a meeting it will be with the SEIU and the Kansas City Star and we will find out about it by reading about it in the paper after it is over.

Is there any easy way to understand the health care bill? I downloaded it but I am not a lawyer so it does not make sense to me. Has anyone written a referenced explanation of the whole thing?

Rush is the best on this (and everything else). Sarah Palin did an excellent blog entry.

It is not about health care or insurance. It's about government growing larger and having absolute control over our lives. It's death and destruction - of our very lives and our way of life. It is 1984.

Weekend homework assignment
It is critically important that pro-lifers bring pressure to bear against the socialized healthcare plan while our legislators are home on recess. We may not be able to attend townhall meetings, particularly as we see legislators now bailing or refusing to hold them.

But here is something each of us can do, from home, on the computer. And that is submit a letter to the editor of our local newspaper. This is the most widely read section of the paper. And it’s free at our disposal.

http://www.StopTheAbortionMandate.com has even prepared 3 samples, which follow! Please choose one, or use one as a template to formulate your own thoughts, and submit it this weekend. Let us know in the comments section you have down your weekend homework! Also, if you create your own succinct letter others can use, post it as a comment, too.

Momentum is on our side now. Please do your part to help sustain it. Thanks!

Sample Letter 1
Dear Editor:

Like many families across the country, my own family is struggling to make ends meet, pay the bills and fill up the car with gas. Now President Obama wants to tax my family even more to pay for the trillion-dollar healthcare bill. But that’s not the worst of it. He is mandating that abortion be covered under the healthcare plan, meaning that my family will be paying for abortions, whether we want to or not.

Whether or not I am pro-life or pro-choice is irrelevant. Abortion does not fall under the guise of healthcare and is not a right. I believe it is my choice to decide whether or not I should be funding abortion and whether or not I should be forced to fund it under bureaucrat-run healthcare.

Tell Congress to vote against any proposal that forces Americans to pay for abortion.

Sincerely,

(YOUR NAME)

Sample Letter 2
Dear Editor:

I thought that the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) was not going to happen and that taxpayers would not be forced to fund abortions. However, the abortion lobby has found a way to get the cornerstone issue of FOCA passed - they’re trying to got taxpayers to fund abortions through the proposed healthcare reformbills.

There are no provisions explicitly stating that abortions should not be funded by taxpayers in the healthcare bill. That means that you and I will be forced to pay for abortions.

Not only that, FOCA wanted to mandate that abortion be covered under all healthcare plans. Guess what is in the proposed healthcare bill now? That’s right - abortion is now a mandate and would be covered by all health insurance plans.

I don’t want to be forced to subsidize abortions and I don’t think the government has the right to force its citizens to pay for such a procedure. Tell Congress to vote against any healthcare reform bill if abortion is not explicitly excluded.

Sincerely,

(YOUR NAME)

Sample Letter 3

Dear Editor:

Under the healthcare plan, virtually every American will eventually be forced into a plan that mandates abortion by requiring individuals to buy health insurance that meets minimum benefits standards determined by unelected government bureaucrats. If the law does not clearly state that abortion is excluded, abortion automatically becomes a minimum required benefit.

Americans don’t support this and don’t support paying for abortions. The proposed healthcare bill amounts to a bailout for the abortion industry, which is swimming in profits already. Taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize this controversial industry.

Since abortion is mandated in the healthcare bill, every insurance plan will have to cover it and provide means necessary to obtain an abortion.

Tell Congress to vote no on any healthcare bill that does not include language to explicilty exclude abortion. No one should be forced to pay for abortions.

Sincerely,

(YOUR NAME)

Obamacare must NOT succeed, this is the single most important and damaging issue to the American Society as we know it today. The reason the Obama Socialist regime is pushing it, is simply because they get paid once made law, and they get paid more then handsomely my friends. They disguise the funds in what is known as a.k.a. campaign funding, that is never used and is taken with them when they leave office, that element in itself is Washington corruption, and it goes on from the local level to the federal level . But the the moral, ethical, and the anti-humanistic lack of values that HR3200 contains will ultimately finish the destruction of this great country, we must ban together and take it back by whatever means necessary. This current administration made up of what I call communist, socialist and fascists, must be stopped and it starts with this HR3200 My view Americanism is not anywhere within this Obama Administration. Start changing things at the local level and in 2010 vote these Democrats out of office nationwide, as well as the corrupt few republicans and begin to call yourself a “Conservative Constitutionalists” Work towards banning abortion altogether and banning organizations such as Planned Parenthood Inc a.k.a. ACORN.

Barry and his henchghoul boys believe in population control through murder. Murder of alive unborn children is birth control to these lying dead-souls. And heck, Barry even believes in murder of just born alive children, so what’s the big deal Democrats ask?

John Holdren, Obama’s Science Czar: Forced abortions and mass sterilization to save the planet

Holdren on Abortion and Morality

http://www.verumserum.com/?p=7328

More you need to read re: Holdren via MMalkin

Well, I did read one of Holdren’s recent works. It revealed his clingy reverence for, and allegiance to, the gurus of population control authoritarianism. He’s just gotten smarter about cloaking it behind global warming hysteria. In 2007, he addressed the American Association for the Advancement of Science conference. Holdren served as AAAS president; the organization posted his full slide presentation on its website.

In the opening slide, Holdren admitted that his “preoccupation” with apocalyptic matters such as “the rates at which people breed” was a lifelong obsession spurred by Harrison Brown’s work. Holdren heaped praise on Brown’s half-century-old book, “The Challenge of Man’s Future,” and then proceeded to paint doom-and-gloom scenarios requiring drastic government interventions to control climate change.

Who is Harrison Brown? He was a “distinguished member” of the International Eugenics Society whom Holdren later worked with on a book about — you guessed it — world population and fertility. Brown advocated the same population control-freak measures Holdren put forth in “Ecoscience.” In “The Challenge of Man’s Future,” Brown envisioned a regime in which the “number of abortions and artificial inseminations permitted in a given year would be determined completely by the difference between the number of deaths and the number of births in the year previous.”

Rahm’s Brother Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel: The Death Czar

A look back at David Ogden:

Links you can use from the past:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2296376/posts?page=60#60

Not to mention Nancy’s ‘cutting costs’ video, Ezekiel Emanuel, Holdren, Daschle and other Mengeles’ and others on his legal team straight from the top of NOW/NARAL/Reproductive Rights legal team; Two of whom don’t judge the ‘born’ as human until a certain number of years and have written on enforcing a one-child policy with insertion of contraceptive into women.

As I posted a while back for their consideration:

OT: Guess what,

Both Sweden and India have announced plans to require registration of the names and identification numbers of all women who have had an abortion. Data collected are reportedly to be used to develop improvements in government health programs.

http://interested-participant.blogspot.com/2009/07/national-abortion-registry-stockholm.html

Funny, even though Holdren wanting to sterilize and impose a one child policy and the eugenic minded Daschle and Ezekiel bro didn’t get to them (neither does stoning, hanging and rape), I think this will get NOW, NARAL and Planned Parenthoods attention... their clients could be next.

I pray to God that people will read this bill and see what monsters are up on the hill.

Read the Groningen Protocol history out of the Netherlands as well... they’re going beyond that eventually.
