July 15th, 2009 - a day that shall live in comedic infamy. The Obama administrations first direct hit from reliably friendly allies. Former Saturday Night Live star, now stand up comic Dana Carvey was the guest on the new Tonight Show with Conan OBrien. When OBrien asked Carvey his opinion of Obama, Carvey trotted out some fresh material. Im worried. The economy just had a heart attack, but Barack just wants to work on the knee, Carvey riffed. Should we do CPR? No, were gonna fix this knee. We can do CPR when its efficient and cost effective, but right now were going to work on the meniscus. Carvey concluded the bit suggesting George W. Bush would have used an economic crash cart. Tax cuts for everybody - CLEAR! The audience roared. Were they laughing at Carveys dumb guy Bush impression, or was it the excitement of more money in their pockets as an economic remedy? No matter the audience response. Carvey saw fit to address economic policy in his comedy. Thats telling....

I heard NPR on the way home — I don’t know it was scanning — anyway — there was a statement about how “every president promised to not raise taxes and then did anyway and Obama will to — AND — he’ll do it because its the right thing to do.”
National Progressive Radio
And we are forced to pay for it! Grrr....
Knee?
No Carvey, you got your metaphor wrong. The economy just had a heart attack, and Obama’s response is to shut off the oxygen supply.
Well hopefully more conservatives will be doing what that older lady did and cancelling cable and sat TV and turning the tv off. This is the best way to end our serfdom.
nO. The patient had a heart attack and Obama, Dem Congress, SEIU, ACORN and their pals are going through the patient’s pockets robbing them as the patient dies.
Actually.....Nationally(funded) Perverse Rhetoric
And these people vote.
Hilarious.
It’s criticism of Obama - it’s a desperately needed start.
Obamacare may be Obama’s solution to the Medicare crisis, but let a bunch of pampered elders be denied their arthritis medicine, and the classic crotchety seniors will be back in force and protesting in walkers in no time. Hopefully, all the way to the voting booth.
LIARS......Bush didn’t.
That's hilarious.
I just love how it ended with the thoughtful quip “..and its the right thing to do..” Not — control spending, cut back, reduce services, spur the part of the economy that makes goods and delivers services by making it easier for them — no — the right thing is to raise taxes, never cut a cent from the ever expanding blubbering federal expenses leading us in to a never ending abyss of economic ruin. The reason these people are so ‘expletive deleted’ stupid is because they are all from academia — they never had to try their ideas out in practice in the real world (other than California).
Unfortunately for Obama, it just so happens that his funniest trait is what a phony, incompetent boob he is. So that's what they are forced to now start joking about, or go out of business.
I hate NPR. They know who their $$$ comes from. The DNC.
I miss president Bush. He told you what he wanted to do and he set about to get it done. I especially liked when he gave Saddam 48 hours to leave Iraq and comforted Iraqi people that their liberation was near.
He meant what he said and said what he meant. I can see why liberals would hate that.
Obamacare, telling grandpa it's time to go
And the logic remains inexorable. If government intends to bend the curve of rising health care costs, and half of those costs are incurred in the last six months of life, and physician-counselors will be sent to the seriously ill to advise them of what costs will no longer be covered, and what their options are what do you think is going to be Option A?
