Health Care Shouting Matches

Town hall meetings, in which locals are encouraged to share their thoughts on government issues, have always had an air of barely controlled chaos. But now, with health-care reform the hottest topic in town, these meetings are devolving into shouting matches.
The Web is buzzing over several local get-togethers in which the supposed person in charge tries his or her best to explain President Obama's health-care package, only to be shouted down by angry protesters.
This seems to be happening all over the country. A meeting in York County, Pennsylvania had "many people shouting their views." House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland held a meeting with some citizens, and while trying to explain the program, heard shouts of "you're lying to me." And then there's the case of Rep. Brad Miller of North Carolina. The congressman has pulled out of all town hall meetings due to angry phone calls and a death threat.
