I think what can clear this up is to compare the stamp in the bottom left to a 2 Shilling coin.

I had previously got a little eye strain over this business of certificates. Not much of an excuse but I fumbled the name of David Jeffery Bomford's father's middle names. No harm done, but it does pay to be careful. One Alaric Edgar Hubert Bomford.

I tried to decipher and failed of course, for the "seal" on the Obama birth certificate. Why your work on this has not blown the thing out of the water, I am wise enough not to comment. I notice the coin is 1937 (I hope I got that right) and I notice the crown and the words, Fid Def Imp- this being defender of the faith in the Empire.

I have a two shilling piece for 1957. The crown is missing and only the words Fid Def (defender of the faith) is embossed. I guess the times caught up with the old once "British Empire". Otherwise it is a close reproduction.

The "seal" is clever stuff on someone's part- I hope they rot, Oh, wait, they do rot- rot in their own filth. (laughs).
