As you can see from the second paragraph below the Linda Douglass video, the White House is asking John Q. Public to snitch on their friends and neighbors by sending emails or web links that refute the administration's position on health care. The pertinent paragraph reads:
"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.
So, what if John Q. sends an email to the WH they've received from their (yuck) conservative uncle. Does the White House now go after that individual? They'll have sufficient information to do so. This is something, I believe, that should be investigated. It smacks of the old KGB pitting the public against itself in turning in people they suspected were anti-communist. Thanks for posting the link directly to the White House. Maybe if everyone sent the White House a copy of the offending parts of the House bill, they would start from scratch with their horrendous version of health care reform.
