I use Photobucket to do that. Its free. photobucket.com you upload it then there will be a link. Copy the “<a href” style and just copy and past it in a post. Easy.

Embedding a pdf is a buggy job. But you can try to upload the PDF to an adobe account:

And the try to embed or hotlink to it.
