St. Petersburg, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The Terri Schiavo Story, a highly-regarded documentary on the life and euthanasia death of the disabled Florida woman, continues to rack up new awards. Meanwhile, the Schindler family continues to help disabled patients whose lives are threatened by doctors or families.
Schiavo was killed in a painful starvation and dehydration euthanasia death over the course of nearly two weeks when her former husband won a court order to kill her and the documentary presents facts that the mainstream media distorted.
Earlier this year the Terri Schiavo Story won the 2009 Jubilee Award at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival.
Now, the film has won the 2009 Crown Award for Best Documentary at the ICVM conference (International Christian Visual Media).
In addition, the Dove Foundation, known for their high standards in family entertainment and their "Family Approved" Seal, has given "The Terri Schiavo Story" its highest rating of five stars.
Meanwhile, Bobby Schindler, Terri's brother, says the foundation he and his family created to help people like Terri is receiving a growing amount of calls for help.
"Over the past few months Terri's Foundation is experiencing a significant increase of calls from family members asking us for help in a variety of health care treatment situations," Schindler explained.
"Most of these are dealing with people who are facing withdrawal of medical care. These calls have been coming in from across the nation. This increase in calls is alarming," he said.
"These calls come in from everyday families who are faced with having their loved ones killed simply because they need extra care or have potentially life threatening disabilities," Schindler continued. "Sadly, too many in the medical community are now deciding that some people should die because their 'quality of life' does not meet some standard that is being subjectively established."
"Terri's Foundation fights every day for the families faced with these situations, trying to protect their loved ones from a strong euthanasia movement," he said.
Schindler says, in an email to LifeNews.com, that the health care bills pending in Congress could add to the concerns.
"And despite the warning from health care experts that a government controlled health care system will only add to this growing problem, potentially exposing countless of our most vulnerable in harm's way, we will remain committed to fight," Schindler said.
Schindler talked about the kind of ethic society needs to embrace.
"We believe no one is unworthy of life, and the most vulnerable among us deserve nothing less than our unconditional love, compassion and care," he said.

From Page 30 of the House “health” bill, take a look at lines 22 and 23:
‘22 (iii) the use of antibiotics; and
23 (iv) the use of artificially administered nutri-
tion and hydration..’
It sounds very familiar, sadly.
Just in case anyone is interested, here’s an excerpt and link of the bill:
“11 (B) The level of treatment indicated under subpara12
graph (A)(ii) may range from an indication for full treat13
ment to an indication to limit some or all or specified
14 interventions. Such indicated levels of treatment may in15
clude indications respecting, among other items
16 (i) the intensity of medical intervention if the

18 or pulmonary problems;

Terri Schiavo, End of Life, and the Health Care Debate ~ by Paul Raushenbush
-snip-
The Terri Schiavo case reminds us the perils of leaving these questions to the guesses of others. Terri Schiavo's husband maintained that she did not want to be kept alive on a respirator while being brain dead while her family felt that taking her off the respirator was an act of murder.
This is what happens when "progressives" get "religion." They lie, in defense of sin.
There's more at the link, but you'll need a strong stomach and an industrial sized barf bag.

And the RINOs think Sarah's career is dead!
Thread by rhema.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin ignited a firestorm over the weekend by calling the health-care reforms pushed by President Barack Obama "downright evil" for proposals that could usher in rationing, and turn federal health boards into "death panels" that would decide whether the elderly and the disabled, like her infant Down's syndrome son, Trig, were "worthy of health-care." Palin's provocative statements, however, have brought fresh scrutiny of the dangers of the proposed "Heath Benefits Advisory Committee," if it were to adopt guidelines of a "Complete Lives System" advocated by Obama's policy advisor on health care reform, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel.
Many Americans have flocked to town-hall meetings to protest what they see as the imminent government-takeover of the health-care industry, which makes up one-sixth of the total American economy. But more and more Americans revolting at Congress's health-care reforms have expressed fears for the health-care of the elderly and disabled, whom they fear will be victims of rationing and even passive euthanasia by way of the "advance care planning consultation" provisions featured on pages 424 - 443 of HR 3200, "the American Affordable Health Choices Act."
"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's "death panel" so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their "level of productivity in society," whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil," said Palin communicating through her Facebook page, which has over 715,000 subscribers. . .

Eunice Kennedy Shriver saw first hand what the eugenicists did to her sister Rosemary and this prompted her to dedicate her entire life to fighting for the disabled. Unlike the rest of the Kennedys, Sargent and Eunice Shriver were fully dedicated to the protection of all life.
Thread by me.
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Although other members of the Kennedy family abandoned their pro-life beliefs as their political stock rose, Eunice Kennedy Shriver never did. And for that, pro-life advocates are mourning the passing of the woman who founded Special Olympics.
Shriver died this morning at the age of 88 surrounded by her family and she is survived by her husband Sargent Shriver, a former Vice Presidential nominee.
Together the Shrivers had five children and twenty-one grandchildren.
Shriver, a lifelong pro-life Democrat, was the sister of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert Kennedy, and Senator Edward Kennedy.
But she was honored by Feminists for Life of America in 1998 as a "Remarkable Pro-Life Woman."
When she received the award, FFLA president Serrin Foster tells LifeNews.com, "her husband phoned the office and asked us to send over a stack of copies for his family and friends. He was delighted that we recognized her in this meaningful way."
"Her legacy will live on in our work and especially in the work of Special Olympics," Foster says.
Shriver was a member of the advisory committee of the Susan B. Anthony List, a women's group dedicated to electing pro-life women to Congress.
No one more than Eunice Kennedy Shriver understood better the power held by the most vulnerable in our society, SBA List president Marjorie Dannenfelser told LifeNews.com. She fought for those hidden in the shadows of life, while acknowledging that they teach us far more than we could ever offer them. She was consistent in her championing of every vulnerable human life.
In 1972, one year before the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade, Shriver told a Birthright convention that abortions could be reduced if more maternity homes could be established and more adoptive mothers found. Later, she proposed a campaign called "One Million for Life" to recruit one million people to adopt unwanted children.
"How do you equate the life of an unborn infant with the social well-being of a mother, a father or a family?" Shriver asked in 1977. "If it is thought that the social well-being of the mother outweighs the rights of fetuses with congenital abnormalities, we do well to remember that more than 99 percent of abortions are done on normal fetuses."
In 1992, Eunice and Sargent Shriver joined Pennsylvania Governor Bob Casey many other influential pro-life leaders in signing a full-page ad in the New York Times protesting the Democratic Partys embrace of the pro-abortion agenda. . .

SAN JOSE, California, August 12, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A Democratic Congresswoman admitted to her California constituents gathered at a town-hall meeting what the Obama administration has tried desperately to keep quiet: the health care reform bill covers abortions.
"We know that over 90 percent of abortions are purely elective, not medically necessary. Why is this being covered when abortion is not clearly health care," Ignacio Reyes, a local pro-life advocate, asked Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Cali.) at a San Jose town-hall meeting.
As the applause for Reyes subsided, Lofgren, who represents California's 16th Congressional District, responded that the proposed Congressional reforms included "a basic benefit plan developed by health professionals."
"Abortion will be covered as a benefit by one or more of the healthcare plans available to Americans, and I think it should be," said Logren, eliciting jeers and protests from the crowd. . .

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A new report relying on data from the Centers for Disease Control finds the states that accepted abstinence education funding saw greater reductions in teen abortions compared to states that didn't. The information provides another argument in favor of funding abstinence education programs.
The Texas-based pro-life group San Antonio Coalition for Life has put out the new report and it compared CDC abortion figures to the list of states accepting or rejecting the funds.
From 2001 through 2005, abortion advocates were successful in getting 17 states to reject the federal grants for abstinence funding. The results show they were worse off for their decisions.
For teen girls under the age of 15, the CDC figures showed a 7.5% decrease in abortions in states rejecting the abstinence funding but a larger 23.1 percent decrease in abortions among states accepting the grants. . .

The left believes that EVERYONE in the medical profession should be involved in the slaughter of innocent life.
Thread by Wolf13.
Modern liberals have a habit of denying the inevitable consequences of their policies. They refuse to concede that a healthcare bureaucracy created and run by persons who embrace utilitarian views of human life might unsettle Americans concerned that government would, as Senator Chuck Grassley put it this week, pull the plug on Grandma.
And they seem baffled by those who find President Obamas professed desire to reduce the number of abortions difficult to reconcile with his efforts to subsidize and expand access to them.
Worst of all is the lefts position on conscience protections for those with religious or moral objections to participating in life-destroying medicine. Obama says he supports robust conscience protections. But dont be fooled.
A current legal case illustrates what life could be like for pro-life healthcare professionals in the Age of Obama. As a lawyer involved in the case explained in an exclusive interview with this column, if Obama and his allies get their way, all pro-life healthcare workers will soon need to ask themselves: Will I be forced to perform abortions? . . .

Klan Barrenhood certainly seems to think that Zero will pay them to kill babies and Pelosi is going to make sure it happens.
Two threads by me.
WASHINGTON, D.C, August 13, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - As calls for protection against abortion in President Obama's health care legislation fall on deaf ears, Planned Parenthood (PP) has made no secret of its continued communications with the White House on its interest in ensuring that "reproductive health" plays a central role in the final version of the legislation.
"Just left the White House meeting on women's health care - they appreciate all the mighty PP supporters speaking up for reform in the states!" wrote Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards on her Facebook and Twitter accounts Wednesday afternoon.
The latest meeting continues an apparently tight relationship between Planned Parenthood and the White House, where Obama administration officials have expressed their full cooperation with and encouragement of Planned Parenthood's stake in the bill. . .
______________________________________________________________
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- When members of Congress return from their August recess, the first battle over the abortion funding found in the health care bills will occur in the House. There, it appears Democratic leaders will prevent a vote on an amendment to remove the abortion funding from the bill.
The House version of the health care bill, HR 3200, currently allows a scheme whereby the federal government will pay for abortions under the plan.
Rep. Bart Stupak has announced that he will sponsor an amendment on the House floor to change that, similar to the one members of a House panel defeated.
But, House members may never have a chance to vote on the Stupak amendment to stop taxpayer-financed abortions because it appears House Democrats won't allow it. . .

A Wichita hospital has decided they won't clean up after Carhart's carnage the way they used to for Tiller.
Thread by me.
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas has announced that it will not allow LeRoy Carhart to admit patients there who may suffer from botched abortions. The decision is significant because it could prevent Carhart from opening up a new late-term abortion business in town.
Carhart current runs an abortion center outside Omaha, Nebraska and had worked with late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller before he was shot and killed by someone not affiliated with the pro-life movement.
Carhart wants to replace Tiller and open up his own abortion facility in Wichita, but he needs an agreement with a local medical clinic to do so, because women injured by botched abortions need to be able to receive immediate medical care.
Just hours after Operation Rescue launched a petition to ask local residents to contact Wesley to ask its officials to deny that relationship, WMC said it will not allow Carhart to admit patients. . .

WASHINGTON Apparently ready to abandon the idea, President Barack Obama's health secretary said Sunday a government alternative to private health insurance is "not the essential element" of the administration's health care overhaul.
The White House indicated it could jettison the contentious public option and settle on insurance cooperatives as an acceptable alternative, a move embraced by some Republicans lawmakers who have strongly opposed the administration's approach so far. . .

Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care, and she adds that physicians from across the country who will gather in Saskatoon today for their annual meeting recognize that changes must be made.
"We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize," Doig told The Canadian Press. . .

It's clear to me the "townhalls" are stacked in favor of Bambi. I cannot believe not one American has uttered Terri's name as a victim of a real death panel. Are people that ashamed that they were on Terri's side? What's their problem? That would be my question - why did you regret voting for Terri Schiavo and explain how she was not subjected to a death panel for all intents and purposes, Bambi?
Finally, George Soros' hemlockers WROTE the end of life provisions. It was George Soros' obsessed death cultists-social engineers (George Felos throw him in there too).
