Depends on the state according to what I was reading. I think that would be hilarious if he was listed as white or Caucasian. They sure didn’t use African in those days.

Not on birth certificates, there have been lots of early '60s BCs posted here, they all use Caucasian. What is in disput is that they also would not have used "African" but rather Negroid or Negro. The third choice would have been "Mongoloid"
