The long-awaited 911 tape and audio of the controversial July 16 arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. are being made public for the first time today, Cambridge officals just announced.
The tapes will speak for themselves, said Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas.
Hass said the tapes will create some confusion, but only with police codes youll hear but the remainder of the tapes are crystal clear.
Its in plain language in most part and you can draw your own conclusions, Haas.
In the 911 tapes, Lucia Whalen can be heard spelling out the name of the street and saying that another woman approached her about seeing two men trying to enter the Ware Street home.

I wonder if they will edit out all of the “n” words gates used?
This is going to be good!
HA HA OBAMI! Now about that beer!
The audio of the tape is here:
Where’s the beef?
I hope the tapes of the officer keying up his mic thru the whole incident are heard. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!
What I want to hear is the recording of the open mic.
Once folks hear exchange between the officer and Gates, I think things will come into focus for all but the brain dead.
Yes they are. Both the 911 tape and the audio of arrest.
bttt
the brain dead still think OJ is innocent, voted Obama, and won’t see Crowley’s justice if it slapped ‘em.
You can here Gates in the background screaming.
Reaally? ... The one where the officer left his microphone turned on?
Now that ought to be interesting...
is there another audio to listen to? I could only hear the woman calling 911 to the cop.
Is there one of his arrest too?
That would indicate all the recordings are to be released, not just the 911 tape as some seem to think.
When seconds count, the cops are minutes away.
