I know that I could NEVER work in a 911 dispatch center. My grandmother was a 911 dispatcher and the stress involved is beyond anything else.
It's the old squeaky wheel getting the grease. The good/great dispatchers rarely get recognized while the screw ups are plastered all over the news.

Are Prof. Gates and his "Bud Buddy" President Obama planning to double-team Crowley at the White House?
Does Crowley get to bring along a friend?

The good/great dispatchers rarely get recognized while the screw ups are plastered all over the news. So this dispatcher screwed up because he came to the conclusion the house was being broken into...even tho his instincts probably told him otherwise.
BTW, I didn't detect a sense of urgency or panic in the woman's voice.
