Maybe Im confused.
I thought the governor of Texas was Rick Perry.
But hes starting to sound like another R.P.: Ron Paul.
The more Perry talks about tea parties, states rights, limited government and defying Washington, the more he seems to be playing for the 70,000 Texas voters who backed Paul, a Republican U.S. representative, for president.
Pauls former state campaign manager is now running against Perry for governor. She agreed.
"Its awfully ironic, isnt it?" Wharton Republican Debra Medina said Friday, laughing over the phone from Austin.
"The governor is great at blowing smoke. He knows how to talk conservative values and principles. Then when he gets elected, he goes right back to big-government principles."

Just like the Dallas Morning News, The ST is pimping for KBH.... There is no way in HELL that KBH should be govorner of TX.
I’ve posted before that Perry “found religion” after the Trans-Texas Corridor situation. That said, Perry is by far the most conservative of any of the candidates.
I’ve had it up to “here” with slick talkers!!
Ron Paul is right. Maybe Rick just wantss to be right as well.
Uhhh... who would the slick talker be?
obama, perry, pelosi, reid, gibbs
I say get rid of both of them. Don’t trust either one of them anymore.
One thing I noticed about Ron Paul. He constantly attack Republicans ill intentions, but never the Democrats. The media loves him, because he plays the useful idiot who rail against his own party, but hardly ever against the Democrats
Rick Aggie Yell Leader always runs just far enough to the right to get the right wing votes. Once elected he’ll change spots again.
Look my friends, I know about Rick’s history. I have never met him, but we are from the same county. I do know his father, was a delegate at the State Convention with him.
Whatever you think about him, he did say what needed to be said at the San Antonio Tea Party. Either he or one of his staff understands what we are facing.
Yes he is facing re-election.
Honestly the State of Texas is in much better shape economically and legislatively than almost any other state in the U.S.
He does not have a bloated budget. The state is “business friendly”. We do not have a State income tax.
Regardless of what I disagreed with him on in the past, I am going to support him now. I will support anyone who will take the ball and move us toward decentralizing power in the U.S. and stop the power grab in Washington.
Gentlemen, it is time to stop this insanity. Enough is Enough.
Sorry, but considering LBJ and Bush, I don’t think I want to even consider Perry for 2012!
Anyone who believes Rick Perry has become some kind of pro-American hero is nuts
This is the same guy who pushed the North American Union, the Trans Texas Corridor, and other surrenders of American soverignity.
Only a fool thinks Perry is some kind of “reformed” pro-American
Perry isn’t much of a conservative, but he’s head and shoulders better than Kay.
Medina was Ron Paul's manager, right? Perry is more conservative than Medina?
Lol, well she does have a point, but it is possible to hold Perry's feet to the fire and at least he occasionally sees the light. I think with a few more trips to the wood shed Perry might just be OK.
*One thing I noticed about Ron Paul. He constantly attack Republicans ill intentions, but never the Democrats*
Paul is a RINO. Supports and has run at times as a Libertarian.
3rd parties trashing Perry because he is having Sarah Palin speak on his behalf and has spoken out for her.
And you want a brain dead senator as gov? Perry has kept is ok shape, but when KBH brings her Washington think to Austin it all changes.
