I have been a lurker and daily reader on Free Republic for many many years and this is the first time I have ever posted something, so please forgive me if I screw it up.

This article just struck me as a powerful perspective on what can be seen as our current path to destruction. Our country is unfortunately being run into the ground by a bunch of inept, freedom-hating, fear-mongering, juveniles cloaked in socialism when they really have no clue what our Founding Fathers intended for this great country.

God help us - I am truly sad for America.

Welcome aboard! But this isn’t breaking news, sad to say.

You can ask the mod_erator to move it to a more appropriate section. I’m sure they’ll understand, first time and all.

Talk to old people
about the 60s. Drugs. Sex.
The Left bombing banks.

Escalating war
in Asia. National guard
shoots kids at Kent State.

The country survived.
It's nuts being defeatest.
Now's better than then.

Ugh, creepy. Makes me think of Animal Farm. It is very scary what is happening here. And so many of the dummies who voted this clown in won’t ever realize that THEY have done this to America with their reckless support of The One. Many others will be dead long before America is fully destroyed and so they’ll never know what their votes have wrought. That’s the unfair part of it to me—that they’ll never have to live with the consequences of their foolish voting.

You did a good job posting your article, by the way! I never would have known it was your first time if you hadn’t said so. Keep it up! :)

I am not a defeatist, if anything I am an optimist and have no doubt our country will survive.

What kind of country will it be?

I agree. I had just mailed that same letter to my email list. Very well done. Surely people can understand that.

Not really. We have never had a president trying to take down America as we do now.

A Marxist as President - quite something to worry about with a country filled with stupid people wanting everyone else to pay for their needs.

Even though it may sound like heresy, be of some good cheer. America has survived worse than Obama. Obama’s rejecting of America’s foundations is what is going to block what he wants to do, although this will have to go on until the end of his term.

He’s played his cards, and lost. While he’ll keep going, the wind is out of his sails.

The doors are now WIDE OPEN for fresh conservatives and fresh conservative ideas to begin their latest play for the main stage, and this time we should do it right.

I know this is off the charts, and a radical idea .......

But,

I am beginning to see the only solution is succession from the U.S. by at least Texas (my state). Why let Obama ruin America for all of us. It might be hard going it alone, but at least we would have a sane government, we could go broke working to save our America (although much smaller) than allowing America to be taken over from within our own government and destroyed.

If a few states followed suit, maybe they would band together and recreate a smaller America free from the terrors of Obama’s view of America.

Let Obama have New York, California, Florida and let him pay for their free benefits to all except the working taxpayer. At least he would have to come up with the money from the non-workers, non-Americans and Texas and others of like mind could forge ahead keeping a government based on the constitution.

Bullcrap!

That would dishonor the thousands of brave men who gave their lives to defend this country, by ceding hallowed US ground to TRAITORS!

Banish the thought, man! Fight for every square inch!

“What kind of country will it be?”

The bigger problem is that WE just by being part of FR are paying attention.... how many of those who do not have a FR are paying attention?

Like the story will it be too late when they do? Everything before did not face such a prefect storm of liberalism. They were able to wake-up and step back to a country they knew and a place close to where they left it time and tone.

Will that still be there when they awake to near what they used to have? I think not.

“have New York, California, Florida and let him pay for their free benefits to all except the working taxpayer.”

When they saw what was happening do you think they would hang out in have New York, California, Florida and let Obama pay for their free benefits?

No, and Detroit, LA, Philly, New York show they will not, they will flow to the new Yellow Brick roads. States and cities with better living and the magnetism of success draw them in hopes of getting a new source of the free lunch.

Like leaches they latch on and attempt to suck the blood from them tool.

Not if the New USA does what the Old USA should have done, namely, establish and defend and police its borders.
