Out of courtesy, Netanyahu decided to postpone any military action until after the visit of Gates, the US Defense Secretary at the end of July. But this should not be construed as an abandonment of the martial option.
On the contrary: exercises have been stepped up, live ammunition and all. Some of these are taking place at nighttime. Are the Israelis going to attack during the night? Doubtful.
But they are sure going to use the cover of the dark to try to rescue pilots shot down over hostile territory and to extract trapped warriors. This means that they will attack in the afternoon, at around 2 or 3 PM.

Israel should not even try asking for Russian cooperation with regard to Iran because it is the Russians that are HELPING IRAN.
The Israelis would be better off asking France and Germany for sympathy and help instead of Russia.
If I were the Israelis I wouldn’t even bother asking the US for help given the tepidness of the Obummer administration toward the Jews and Israel.

The ‘Bama is creating the perfect storm of foreign policy catastrophe; embracing those who have vowed to destroy us, and alienating those who would stand with us.
Sadly enough, the only alternative to disaster is to convince the Iranian people that they must abhor nuclear anything. The only way to do this is to show them the horror that nuclear war will bring to them.
This is done not with nuclear weapons, but with a covert program to inflict thousands of Iranians with horrific radioactive contamination injuries, and to do so in a way attributable to the Iranian nuclear weapons production.
A least one truck would spew large amounts of contaminants in a direct line from a major nuclear project downwind to a populated city. Soon, the people in that city would develop radiation burns, sickness and death.
They should bomb at sunset and mop up at night.

Seems to me the more armchair quarterbacking these “journalists” do on this thing is got me riding on the fence between “loose lips sink ships”, and “this is exactly what they want you to think” metality...
Instead of speculating on “when” and “if” it is going to happen, people should be wondering “what” is going to happen after the fact...

Iran will have what is left of their forces plug up the Straight of Hormuz...They will make some strikes in Iraq for sure...And be all up in everybody’s stuff after all is said and done...
Which means we are either going to engage ourselves in preventing that, or, let things go...
Our current administration is probably not even ready or even thinking about these contigencies...

Israel doesn’t feel like they have anything to lose because they are convinced that Iran will denonate a nuclear weapon in Israel at the first opportunity.
I agree. They put that out just for disinformation and to gauge Iranian reaction. Make it so they don’t know what to believe.

The strategic calculus for Israel is quite easy. All they have to do is take their best shot. A real, no-sh!t attempt to take out Iran's nuke capability and perhaps elements of the regime.
Iran then has no choice but to respond...and respond with everything they have.
It's likely that response would mean they'd launch every missile they have at Israel, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc. and attempt to shut off the flow of oil through the strait. It's also likely they would activate every proxy and terrorist cell they have...hitting targets throughout the Mid-East, Europe and US.
The US will be FORCED to protect it's strategic interests throughout the mid-east. That can only mean an overwhelming military response to Iran's forced actions.
