Yes, but the United States does not recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capitol for political reasons, therefore the U.S. Embassy is in Tel Aviv, so that is accurate, IIRC.

I’ve read this story before. It is not news.
Well, many of us Americans do too.
But it is were the US embassy is.
The American people are of the mind that we did not vote Obama into office especially since we were force fed McCain with no alternative.

The United States Jerusalem Embassy Act, passed by Congress in 1995, states that "Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel; and the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999".
There's also the Foreign Relations Authorization Act of 2003 which reiterated Congressional commitment to move the US embassy to Israel's capital.
Every 6 months, moving the embassy to Jerusalem comes up for review. Every 6 months, the president signs a waiver “temporarily” postponing moving the embassy to Jerusalem. The US maintains that final status of Jerusalem is unsure since the falsistinians ALSO claim Jerusalem as their capitol for a “state” that does not exist and should NEVER exist. Therefore, the American embassy is STILL in Tel Aviv and will not be moved anytime soon.
You cannot even get an American passport with Jerusalem, ISRAEL as your birthplace. Jerusalem only. There have been lawsuits to correct this. The suits have been lost in American courts.
That sums it up.
Regardless of the craven actions of the US government, Tel Aviv is not, in fact, Israel’s capital.
