'Hardball' on President Obama's birthplace (Chrissy Matthews attacks messenger, not BC issue)

The on-again, off-again debate over whether Barack Obama was born in the United States is, well, on again.

Just a few days after an angry protester, waving a birth certificate, confronted Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) over Obama’s origins, California Rep. John Campbell took to MSNBC’s Hardball to promote his bill requiring presidential candidates to submit copies of their birth certificates.

But it didn’t take long for the interview to turn to questions about whether Campbell believed Obama himself was American-born.

“What is going on that so many Americans doubt the obvious, that Barack Obama is a citizen, to the point that you felt it necessary to co-sponsor this crazy proposal?” host Chris Matthews asked Campbell.

Campbell didn’t respond directly, saying that his proposal was “only looking forward.”

“It`s 2012 and beyond,” he said.

That wasn’t enough for Matthews, who pressed on – and accused Campbell of trying to appease “the nutcases” while holding up a copy of Obama’s birth certificate.

But Campbell only gave another non-answer, saying “Don`t you think anybody that who runs for president should — wouldn`t you want to know that, that they meet those requirements before they run? What`s wrong with that?”

Determined, Matthews responded: “Do you have any doubts, Congressman, about the authentic native birth in this country of our president? Do you have any doubts?”(continued)

OK Folks I am missing something on the birth cert thing...when was Obama’s Momma supposed to have left the country (after she got pregnant in November 1960 out of wedlock by an older married man from Kenya...)??? Are there records of her having left the country? Did pregnant 18 year old college students in 1960 just up and leave the country for Kenya (to a possibly hostile environment where the first wife of her Kenyan lover...) Her leaving US soil just doesn’t add up...

It is a very simple matter to simply show the birth certificate, so show it. It is a lot easier to do this than to speculate what a teenager would or would not do.

Also...Obama, himself, said that his father was a British citizen and Kenyan. Automatically, that eliminates Obama chances for natural born status.

Where did Matthews get Obama's birth certificate to hold up, when the rest of the country is dying to see Obama's long form birth certificate?

1. If Matthews was holding up Obama's short form birth certificate that we see on the internet, where the race of Obama's Kenyan citizen father is classified as "African", then Obama must have downloaded it from the internet, and, to be honest, it is not worth the paper it is printed on, because the more the public studies the short form birth certificate, the more we the public are coming to the conclusion that it is either a fake, or it was changed after it arrived from Hawaii.

2. If Matthews was as good a reporter as he is supposed to be, he would look at Obama's short form birth certificate and be curious as to why Obama's Kenyan citizen father's RACE is listed as "African", when there is very, very strong evidence that the term "African" did not exist in 1961, because black parents were listed as "Negro" way back in 1961.

3. So, if Matthews was a good, investigative reporter, he would challenge Obama to allow Hawaii to release Obama's long form birth certificate so that Matthews could compare the RACE of Obama's father on the long form birth certificate with the RACE of Obama's Kenyan citizen father on his short form certificate that we see on the web: "African."

4. My point is this: Matthews should ask Hawaii bureaucrats, like the Republican Governor, if listing the RACE of Obama's Kenyan citizen father as "African" is the first and only time in the history of Hawaii birth certificates that a parent was listed as "African" instead of as "Negro", the term used in 1961 to classify black parents.

5. I can't wait to hear or read the Hawaii Republican Governor's response to the question above about "African" vs. "Negro" 1961 RACE classifications.

Well, Mr. Obama’s paternal grandmother claims she was there (in Kenya) to see little Barry born, the Kenyan ambassador to the United States says he was born there and most of the people in Africa believe it, too. His birthplace is a shrine in Kenya, btw.
