It has to do with it because of this: it is another way to say that people who believe in Creation are morons just like the folks who believe the moon landing was a hoax. A typical parallel meant to degrade Bible believing Christians.

If you can’t slap them in the face, kick them in the butt.

The point is, that no matter how overwhelming evidence may be, a certain number of people are going to discard that evidence.

It's pretty funny to read a complaint about comparing creationists to moon-landing skeptics in the middle of a bunch of posts comparing evolutionists to AGW believers.
