When you file your taxes, if you can't prove to the IRS that you are in a qualified plan, you'll be fined thousands of dollars -- as much as the average cost of a health plan for your family size -- and then automatically enrolled in a randomly selected plan (House bill, p. 167-168). snip
One troubling provision of the House bill compels seniors to submit to a counseling session every five years (and more often if they become sick or go into a nursing home) about alternatives for end-of-life care (House bill, p. 425-430). The sessions cover highly sensitive matters such as whether to receive antibiotics and "the use of artificially administered nutrition and hydration."
This mandate invites abuse, and seniors could easily be pushed to refuse care. Do we really want government involved in such deeply personal issues?

A government-sponsored public plan option continues to be the most contentious issue in the current health reform debate. Proponents of the option believe it provides an alternative. It lets Americans choose between a government-run option and private insurers, while at the same time applying competitive pressure to the rest of the insurance industry. Opponents say the introduction of a public plan would lead to the federal takeover of the country’s healthcare system, thereby restricting patient choice, reducing quality and increasing the power of the federal government.
As health legislation continues to be debated, one has to ask whether members of Congress writing such legislation would actually enroll themselves in a new government-run healthcare option. Current draft healthcare legislation exempts members of Congress from the public plan option, allowing them to keep their existing plans.
Congressman John Fleming (LA-04) is asking this very question noting that public servants should be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating. He has created a resolution calling on members of Congress who support a public option to enroll themselves and encourage their colleagues to do the same. We support his resolution and broaden it to include congressional staff as well.
Removing the tax deduction for businesses paying for employee health care might do the same thing. I would like the option of buying a catastrophic care plan in a competitive market from a private insurer.
I would also be willing to sign a waiver against seeking legal measures against a doctor or hospital for significant discount rate. The lawyers would go bonkers.

I tend to agree with you, except for catastrophic care - no one could afford it without coverage. The problem is that Obama and the Dem’Rats want to replace private insurance and health care with something that amounts to no insurance and death care.
Let people shop for their own major medical policies but have catastrophic care paid for by a pool collected by the states, not the feds.

You know, I’m beginning to wonder if this death care takeover is God’s punishment to this country for aggressively killing people like Terry Schiavo? Now we’ll get a taste of our own medicine en masse. I remember that as each day of her starvation/dehydration ticked by, I fantasized about someone storming through the impenetrable barrier erected around her, rescuing her, and immediately administering fluids. I could not wrap my head around policemen who would actually agree to guard her from anyone who would try to save her.

He lied about his so-called church, and he lied about it's hateful, anti-American pastor whose hate-filled, anti-white, anti-American "sermons" he had listened to for 20 years. He has lied continuously ever since he was sworn into office. What is so appalling to me is that so many people believe his outright lies. I suppose they see what a mistake they made by voting for him and they now want to believe him so much that they will swallow whatever lies he feeds them.
America is finished if he gets a second term. In fact it may be finished before he gets another term if his insane spending spree continues and legislation like this bill is enacted into law and upheld by a corrupted court system. Has all common sense totally deserted the American people since this foreign born communist who is determined to destroy the America he hates took over? For God's sake what has happened to the American people in the last few years?
Many of us have watched in alarm and sorrow as our nation has been undermined and stolen by socialist/communist educators, politicians, entertainers, and false religious leaders. What we have been afraid would happen "someday" is happening now right before our eyes. Pray that God will forgive us for allowing 50 million prebirth babies to be murdered in their mothers' bodies and give America one more chance to live up to it's forefathers' hopes and dreams. There's no reason why He w\should since we have turned our collective backs on Him for the last 60+ years and sneered at Him and His Holy Word, but He is graciously forgiving to those who return to Him in sincerity and sorrow for their sin.

The NYPost printed a piece written by Fleming.
Even if Obama does NOT get a 2nd term, entitlements tend to be irreversible, so we must fight hard to stop Obamacare.
In one letter I asked if he was still alive or had passed on,since I never get a response.
To that ,I did get a response, telling me he was alive, from a Staffer.
After that no more response and as far as I know he is Dead to me and to most of his constituancy. Small Loss.
