My wife and I drove through Rocky Mountain National Park on that winding state highway that runs through it, she was terrified the whole time.
I was driving and that may have had something to do with it. I offered to let her drive and she wouldn’t do that either.
It was the first time I’d ever seen snow on my b/day - June 29th.
Ever drive the Going To The Sun road in Glacier National Park? Now that's an experience you won't forget. I was driving, and at one point I asked my wife what was off to the right of my view (couldn't take my eyes off the road). She said she didn't know because she was too scared to look over the side which was about four or five thousand feet down.
Gimme a big ole guardrail and I'm OK....but they don't do that sort of thing there, I guess.
Oddly enough, driving and riding through the Rockies didn’t bother me. It was so beautiful and I loved it. But, I hated driving through the Smokies for some reason. It was as if I had to fight the steering wheel to keep the car from drifting in some areas.
