[history]
Freepers, get the word out loud and wide. The Vancouver Sun "journalist" Chris Parry that defamed Jim Robinson and FreeRepublic is none other than radical left blogger "Hollywoodoz" at the Daily Kos. In addition to writting for the Vancouver Sun, Chris is a frustrated and failed internet entrepreneur, having launched many websites and blogs, all of which have virtually no traffic, following, or success. Chris also writes movie reviews, though these are pretty lame.
Chris Parry actually advocated attacking "negros" and blaming the republicans for it. See this post at the Daily Kos by "hollywoodoz", who is in reality, as proven below Chris Parry of the Vancouver Sun. See it here: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/9/9/10324/92702 This spells BUSH, CHENEY, BROWN. Now if this is not grounds for losing your job at the Vancouver Sun, I don't know what is.
Bloody Useless Sack of Hatred
Can He Eat Negro Eyes Yet
Blaming Republicans Only Works Now

humblegunner made a HP reference?!? I'm a huge PotterHead.
When things synch up, Allegra comes back to the States and we hook up with my mom and go see the newest Potter flick.
This is hard to fathom?
To: NoobRep; ChrisParry
Hey Chrissy since youre such a top notch ethical journalist and investigative reporter, can you get information on the following that Obama has yet to provide:
Long vault birth certificate with name of delivery room doctor and hospital he was born in. His kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.
Thanks for your help and I look forward to your response.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2290929/posts?... ;page=359#359
Post #365 (if it's still there). This is not a screen shot. I copied it to Word.
To: joinedafterattack Uh, youve drawn a few odd conclusions here.
Yep, I absolutely posted at DailyKos.com before starting work at The Sun. Also posted here. Also posted at MLB.com and scout.com and... god, after fifteen years on the internet, I might even have visited a porn site or two.
I guess the big question here is and?
Has no Fox News personality ever posted here? Has no conservative columnist ever deigned you worthy to post a comment?
Your massive find is nothing more than a couple of breadcrumbs on the internet trail that point to a couple of websites I long ago sold off (Unreel Media is owned by another company these days, though if youre looking for editorial services, theyre amazing and worth a call).
Did I organize a Google Bomb of Bill OReilly a few years back when he called for an attack on San Francisco? Sure enough. Proud moment.
Do I think Carrie Prejean is a moron? I do. Absolutely.
Do I think Michael Moore was right? Yup. I think history proved it, though Ill agree he cheats to get the footage he wants (you can find plenty on dKos where Ive said as much).
Do I think its understandable Saddam tried to off Bush Sr? Sure. Bush told him that the US had no beef with Iraq muscling Kuwait over an oil dispute, so when the US suddenly called him evil for doing so, it would make sense theyd have a beef. Im not saying hed be right in going after Pappy, I just think the urge to do so would be understandable coming from him.
As far as girl on girl action is concerned, like I said, I dont own those sites anymore. Well, not all of them. Not that one, anyway. Last I heard it was going to be a techy review site, but I guess they opted for automated news aggregation of a given sort. I contacted the owner and he took the phrase off the site just now, so theres one for the little guy.
Yes, i have had contact with Markos Moulitsas. I emailed him once. Im guessing Jim (sorry for the name screw-up - will fix it when im next at my desk) has done same.
As for the loan sharking bit... well, thats just a terrible lie. Im a member of a website called Kiva.org, that lends money to third world people who want to start a business and cant get credit due to their circumstances. I would send $50 every few weeks to be loaned to an ox farmer in Zambia or a baker in Azerbaijan, and they would then pay the loan back as they could (interest-free) and the money could then be re-loaned elsewhere. If thats loan-sharking, then I guess Im a loan shark, but Im thinking any rational person would see it as a good thing to do. Sending aid is dumb, because youre just temporarily filling a hole. Offering microcredit builds an economy. Again, proud moment.
What motivated me to write the piece about FR?
Well, you see, Ive seen a lot of anonymous blog posts in my time that were nasty, vicious and beyond the pale. They happen on dKos too, as you know, but most of the time theyre isolated incidents and quickly stomped.
But this was an entire thread in which everyone - bar a couple - were pounding out racial, sexist and just plain boorish abuse at an 11-year-old girl. Thats not cool.
That it was suppressed and placed under review would make it a non-story, if it stayed suppressed, but when it came back, with a note mocking the person that complained, that comes across as site approval to me.
More comments of the same nature followed before someone finally put the kybosh on things - after it went public.
Say what you will about my political beliefs (Im a lefty, never hidden it), but thats a story.
For those who wondered, yes, I believe Lettermans joke was wrong. I also note he apologized and clarified his intent on national TV. So be it.
What it all comes down to is, if you properly moderate your forum (Gosh, I called it a blog? Consider me flayed) so that 11-year-old girls arent called whores, we can go back to just believing in opposite things and I can get back to writing about MMA, Jon and Kate Plus 8, and other such important things.
Much love, and feel free to drop me a line at cparry@vancouversun.com if you want to discuss things further. Im an open book, as should be any journalist, left, right or otherwise.

Instead, they'll use their "anonymous" email accounts to hurl insults. Some will call him "gay." Others will quote violent passages from the Bible. Still others will write long, incoherent, poorly-spelled screeds threatening various sorts of mayhem, etc.
When Freepers email, they pull out all the stops.

|
I am the Kristinn you erroneously mentioned in your article. Yours was a sloppy cut and paste job, the sole point of which was to whack Free Republic. Congratulations. Mission accomplished. I ignored the person who contacted me for comment about the thread in question because my instinct told me they were lying about their intent (that instinct was proven correct when the person posted about it at the Daily Kos). However, if you had reached out to me from the Vancouver Sun I would have spoken with you about it.
But you had an agenda as a reporter, and plowed ahead without doing some basic fact checking. We expect nothing less from the media these days. An honest reporter would have at least mentioned their ties to the Daily Kos and that this hit originated there, so readers could discern for themselves whether there is a political agenda behind your article or if you were really writing for the betterment of all mankind.

Not quite sure why the Freepers think that's ground for national outrage, but it's sure as heck driving traffic to my employers.
It's weird to find yourself at the top of both FR and dKos on a Sunday morning.
I will say this - for all the bashing of the mainstream media done in the blogiverse, it's funny how when you actually do some reporting on a blog, the offense level ratchets up to "insano blowout."
FreeRepublic allowed posters to call an 11-year-old daughter of the President a whore. They then took the comments down, then reposted them and mocked someone for complaining about them.
That ain't cool, period. I don't care what your political tilt is.
So this is gonna stop presses nationwide?
Things are really hitting rock bottom in Freeperworld...and considering they started out in the muck, that's reaching depths that drilling equipment are hard-pressed to reach.
I'm looking forward to David Shuster's reports tomorrow...sounds like he's gonna bore those assholes an extra three or four (if he can find the room...so many assholes have been bored into them over the past 2 years).
Stupid fools, they now will draw attention to their own racism with this "hugh outrag"
Kudos to Hollywoodoz. And damn it...I'm proud to be a Kossack...and have been since the place began as well as here on DU.

I am taking it at face value. Rule number 1 of authorship, if your reader's don't get your point, don't blame the readers, check your own writing. If you have to constantly say 'what I really meant was...' you shouldn't blame other's reading comprehension. How about your calling for violence against Biden.. what did you really mean by that? Do you have an excuse for 'what you really meant' on all of your writing? Why not post your own words in your column just like you posted the newbie posts from the thread that started it and let your reader's decide. 576 posted on Sunday, July 12, 2009 11:09:37 AM by mnehring

Mr. Parry,
Its to your credit that youre remaining on this thread, engaging in dialogue of some sort with ideological opponents. So far, you have answered the (a) part of the first of my 2 questions, which Ill reproduce below. Would you care to answer the rest of (1) and also (2)? _______________
1) Do you specifically deny that the any of racist comments under discussion were made by either:
a)yourself,
b)someone you were cooperating with, or
c)someone you had reason to know to be a plant intended to damage Freerepublic.com?
2) Have you ever made comments on the Internet, with the intention of spoofing and thereby damaging those with whom you disagree?
You forthright answers may help to resolve this controversy.
Thanks.

Yes, the facts remain that cesspool has long been a safe haven for racists that is being exposed for what it is. The site long has lost relevancy with all but the flying monkeys...rarely cited even in right wing blogs.
But at least it's keeping them busy. Next week we put them in a circular room and tell them Obama's Kenyan birth certificate is in the corner

That's what I was wondering as I had never read the original thread where all this racial bashing of Obama's children were and am just catching up on this.
So that actually happened? Newbies were the ones who made the comments? The newbies were "left wing infiltrators"? Was this Chris Parry one of them? Looks like he could have been one of them or worked with them to do this, then take the opportunity to put it in a paper to try to draw attention to how alledgedly racist conservatives are. I mean really, I doubt he spends much of his waking moments scouring FR for dirt. He had to know in advance this was going to happen.
On another forum I read, one of their liberals posted a thread about this very thing and, of course, the libs there are up in arms. Would be nice to take back some facts to expose to them - that this was a planned hit to damage Free Republic.
