This is exactly why comments like that are not harmless because even if they are few and far between and even if people here challenge them, that they are here at all makes it easy to portray the whole site and conservatives in general as racists. Many of the right have been ignoring the left's complaints that conservatives are racist and shouting "political correctness" for a few decades now and over that time we've gone from the General Lee in the Dukes of Hazzard being considered a fairly harmless symbol of Southernness to being a controversial racist symbol. We're losing the battle and doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is a sign of insanity (or masochism).
