Israel has warned Iran of catastrophic consequences if it attacks the Jewish state with weapons of mass destruction.
Israel's national security advisor says Iran will be destroyed if its dares to launch a nuclear attack on the Jewish state.
In an interview published Friday in the Hebrew daily Ha'aretz, Uzi Arad said Israel must have "tremendously powerful" weapons to deter or retaliate for a nuclear strike.

That will be a little too late, I think. Islam might be willing to sacrifice 80 million Iranians in order to get rid of Israel.

One thing is for sure: There is no doubt this time that, unlike Saddam's Iraq, Iran has Weapons of Mass Destruction. In fact, Iran has a lot of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

An successful Israeli attack on Iran to take out its nuke program is virtually impossible, if the US doesn’t along them to cross Iraq. How are they going to get to Iran?

They can fly via Turkey or Saudi Arabia. There were reports that the Saudis allowed them to pass their airspace.

I think it is a critical chess board piece for them, IMHO, in the Persian Gulf. Ruling Sunni (are) in place, of course, but a strong and credible Shiite population bubbling up from below, and getting stronger as we speak. They have more of an allegience to Teheran as anywhere else. A small insignificant island you might think but there is potential power in urging or facilitating Bahrain into the Iranian orbit. In many respects I think they are well on the way as it is.

Israel will think outside the box, in handling Iran's nuke program. If Israel decides to go after them militarily, I've read analysts that say it will be with Israel's ICBM's. The Israeli's have the new Jericho III, which is capable of a a 2000 - 3000 lb warhead. Imagine, if you will, a hardened non-nuclear warhead, essentially made out of Tungsten alloy, moving around 6 miles per second on impact. The force would equal that of a nuclear bomb, but would be entirely concentrated on a single impact point. I cannot imagine the penetrating capabilities of such a weapon, but I'd guess nothing that is not buried at least a thousand feet is safe. If a target is deeper, well multiple impacts would probably work. The US has developed such a warhead for our SSBM's, and I doubt it would be a real stretch for the Israeli's to develop such a weapon, with the missile being the hardest part to fabricate. A low-tech tactical non-nuke with nuclear sized yields.

Israel has a problem very similar to South Korea - its population is heavily concentrated in a very limited area that is within artillery range of its major nemesis.
But Seoul is much larger in area than Tel Aviv - and therefore somewhat less vulnerable. A successful nuclear attack on Tel Aviv - only two or three weapons - might be more than Israel could survive, no matter what counterstrike they might mount. Israel would retaliate only against the attacker, but the rest of the neighborhood would likely seize the opportunity to rid themselves of both of the decimated countries.

Israel has warned that if international diplomacy fails, it might launch a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. If Israel does attack they might as well take out the Hizbos in lebanon, the Hamas thugs, the syrians and the rest of their enemies in the region. A preemptive strike will be tantamount to declaring war on Iran and company.
Wonder if Israel has the fortitude to do this?
