The Jackson family has decided to bring Michael's body to the memorial service being held today at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, putting off the announced plans for a private internment at Forest Lawn cemetery from 8 a.m. PDT to after the service.
The 10 a.m. PDT service is being broadcast on all the major American broadcast and cable news networks, as well as in theaters across the country, the Times Square jumbotron in New York City and on TV screens around the world.
From Entertainment Weekly, performers and friends expected at the service include: Kobe Bryant, Mariah Carey, Berry Gordy, Jennifer Hudson, Shaheen Jafargholi, Magic Johnson, Martin Luther King III, Bernice A. King, John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Brooke Shields, Usher and Stevie Wonder.
Michael's Jackson's close friend Elizabeth Taylor declined an invitation to speak at the service, writing in part on Twitter: "I cannot be part of the public whoopla."
In a strange but fitting twist of fate, the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus elephant parade through the streets of Los Angeles is set to take place this morning with the elephants arriving at the Staples Center just hours before the service for the circus' scheduled run at the arena.

One would think that for a funeral/memorial that Mariah Cary could keep her “girls” contained. Good Grief!
How long will the media feeding-frenzy go on?
I was thinking the same! Then, the right camera angle shows the MJ casket down front....kinda weird if you ask me....but what do I know....
That hand thing drives me crazy
Let God take care of the hereafter, but we have to guard our children here on earth against Pedophiles.
Tara, you are offending those on this thread who are witnesses to the evil these predators have done to their sons.
Furthermore, I have a son whose career is to monitor these deviant Sexual Offenders who are on Federal Probation. If they're not watched 24/7 they will physically offend again, although every day they mentally molest children...It's a night mare of a job, but someone has to do it.

A golden casket, a golden calf... no difference. The deification of Jackson makes me sick.
I do like Queen Latifa
I pray for all children to be safe in a world of such evil with Predators on the lose....My intention was never to protect child predators, it was just being dignified and praying for those who lost someone in death....
I apologize if I offended anyone here..
GOd Bless....
The ratings are phenomonal. O’Reilly and Gretchen Carlson were discussing that last night. They noted that when Fox has gotten away from covering Jackson’s death their ratings plummeted. They’re in the business of giving the people what they want, so that’s why the networks are all live with their lead anchors in Los Angeles.
Now, that's living by the word...peace.

AMEN! :)
My coworker just told me that Michael planned his funeral. If that is true, Michael has paid in advance for this service. Correct?
Isn’t Berry gordon the one that ripped off the Jackson 5 and then wouldn’t let them use their name when they left.
Thanks!
Great Song!
