The Senate leadership has been under the heavy Gestapo boot of the Oligarchy for decades.
I’m skeptical that there’s a true patriot left anywhere in the Senate. And certainly there are none left in the leadership and haven’t been for a long time.
There are at least three — Inhofe, Coburn, and DeMint — am sure there are more as there about 17 that always vote together. They are not in leadership.
Would have been so different if Lott had not doublecrossed Senator Nichols from OK for Majority Leader. Nichols was a conservative, straight shooter and honest. Couldn’t have that as the leader. In fact, Nichols was the #2 in the Senate and Lott wouldn’t take him to budget negotiations with Clinton. Then some on here wondered why I detested Lott and still do.
