‘The Queen is dead, long live the King’. Alaska is lucky to have Lt Gov Parnell ready to go. A solid conservative Republican, Sean served in the Legislature for over a decade when oil prices were as low as $9. As a former Senate Finance Chair, he understands our state, our budget, and our problems. He separately won the Republican Lt Governor primary election in 2006 then joined Governor Palin on the General Election ballot. An attorney by training, he's married with 2 teenage girls. He's generally considered a low key kind of guy and that, in my opinion, is exactly what Alaska needs for awhile.

I have training in Organizational Theory (another discipline that most people don’t even know exists.)

One of the most important important qualities a manager can have is that they train a good replacement for their own position. That not only demonstrates excellence, but confidence in their own ability and a good reason to put confidence in that manager. It shows respect toward the people on his staff. It gives the organization more flexibility.

In addition gives the manager the opportunity to take advantage of their own opportunities without being concerned about abandoning their own responsibilities, whether the opportunity is within that organization, or if it is EXTERNAL to the organization.

This is Sarah Palin!

She CLEARLY has trained her replacement.

She CLEARLY has his respect (as well as the respect of the state)

She reminds me of the excellent “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” 1967 movie. However, in this case, she is really IS competent, instead of being a sycophant.

She reminds me of Lee Iacocca in many ways, and what he is clamoring about now. In his book, “Where Have All the Leaders Gone?”, Iacocca writes:

“. Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, “Stay the course.”

Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned Titanic. I’ll give you a sound bite: Throw the bums out! .”

The book was published in ‘87 and was VERY critical of Pres.Bush. You can see more excerpts at Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/iacocca.asp ... If you look at his criticism of Pres.Bush, though, you will find it easy to see he can have no great love for the way Dear Leader’s administration is behaving (Putting a 31yo political operative “in charge” of the auto industry?) and if he didn’t like that Pres.Bush didn’t read newspapers, how do you think he feels about a Congress who doesn’t read the legislation they vote on?

I believe he will be STRONGLY supportive of Sarah Palin, unless he is dead set against her social conservative views, because she IS the type of leader he has been seeking.

Here is a link to his “Leadership Scorecard”... http://www.leeiacocca.com/scorecard/scorecard.pdf ... see how she would stack up. (There is even more description of those 9-C’s in the snopes linked text) See what you think.
