Honduras rulers defy world pressure to restore Zelaya (Obama ready to throw temper tantrum)

The Honduran interim government defied international pressure on Wednesday and vowed there was "no chance at all" of ousted President Manuel Zelaya returning to office.

World leaders from U.S. President Barack Obama to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez have told the new rulers of the Central American country to restore Zelaya, a leftist who was toppled by the army on Sunday and sent into exile after a dispute over presidential term limits.

The Organization of American States gave Honduras an ultimatum early on Wednesday to allow Zelaya back into office by this weekend or face suspension.

But the interim government's response indicated there was little immediate hope of a negotiated solution to the crisis in Honduras, an impoverished coffee and textile producer.

Enrique Ortez, interim foreign minister, said Zelaya would be arrested if he came home, and said the interim authorities were sure that Zelaya had been removed in a legal process.

"We are not negotiating national sovereignty or the presidency," he told Reuters in an interview. "There is no chance at all," of Zelaya coming back to power

So, their Supremes said Zelaya had served his term and could NOT be elected by Honduran Constitutional law? Is this a crime? Someone in DC needs to get their facts straight and make sure they are on the right side.

Obama is afraid the same thing will happen to him once his birth certificate is made public.

This is exactly why we shouldn’t care what the world thinks. They are so off base on what is going on there that it calls into question ANYTHING they say or believe...

The Honduran patriots are an example to us in the USA. The solution to criminal politicians is deportation. There are a few hundred on Capital Hill and on Pennsylvania Avenue that need to go!!

Well if they're handing out favors they could kick us out too.

Unfortunately FOX News’ Special Report just did a special report on the Honduran situation and they told the commie propaganda spin straight down the line without a word about the Honduran constitution, legislature, SC, Zelaya’s illegal referendum or any other scrap of truth about what happened.

Jose Manuel Zelaya sounds like an Obama acolyte...

Since 2005, Honduras has received nearly $4 billion in debt relief from bilateral and multilateral donors. The donor community estimated this would reduce annual debt service payments by about $200 million in 2007. The Government of Honduras has committed to apply these funds to poverty alleviation, as laid out in the existing Poverty Reduction Strategy. However, much of the ensuing rise in government spending has gone to public sector salaries and fuel subsidies.

In spite of what the State Run Media says not all of the world has sided with Zelaya and the Marxists.

However, an anti-communist alliance called UnoAmerica, the Union of Democratic Organizations of America, has recognized the new government of Honduras and urges support for it, issuing a statement saying that "in Honduras there has not been a blow to the state, but rather a constitutional succession, perfectly legitimate, after the intent of ex-president Manuel Zelaya to violate the constitution and maintain power, following the mandate of Hugo Chavez."

Regarding Obama's ally, Venezuelan ruler Chavez, UnoAmerica said that "He is tied to Colombian narcotics terrorism (FARC) and to the government of [Iranian President] Ahmadinejad. He finances the Cuban dictatorship. He permanently tramples the Constitution and kidnaps the liberties of the people. He commits electoral fraud. He forcibly represses peaceful and disarmed Venezuelans. He closes means of communication. He hates the Catholic Church."

Rebutting charges of a "military coup," UnoAmerica noted that "the Armed Forces of Honduras have been limited to obey the judicial mandate, that which obligates a reestablishment of constitutional order, thus showing its subordination to the civil authority."

Propagana for the masses. Fox’s earlier reporting was pretty fair. I wonder if someone at the FCC propaganda center “had a talk” with them. We’ve read enough firsthand testimony from Hondurans on the ground to know the truth, and it has been routinely consistent.

That will be suppressed if true, as long as possible. Everything is about spin, perception, controlling the masses.

I only half listened to the panel but I don’t think they even mentioned the Honduran situation. I know Krauthammer would nail the Marxists to the wall if they had.
