Things like this don't "just happen" - it was incited. Who incited them? Yes - I know it was pushed by local mosques but somebody got the mosques to do it. These sorts of things are usually politically motivated even though they take advantage of racial and religious hostilities.

My WTF?!? question - why acid? I've read about a half-dozen stories recently involving it. People don't usually walk around with jugs of acid ready just in case somebody annoys them. Is their an industrial supplier for these things that needs to be looked into?
