interview exerpt:
QUESTION: How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature's work?
BASS: "The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: "You vote for revenue and your career is over." I don't know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it's about free speech, but it's extremely unfair."
QUESTION: Do you get especially exasperated when your own people -- Democrats -- don't agree with you?
You know, I was a community activist, so I'm used to standing out in front of an elected official's office and protesting. It's only been five years since I've been on the other side. I get frustrated when we're in the middle of the deepest recession since the Depression and people say, "You really shouldn't cut." This is very, very painful. I'm doing the exact opposite of what I ran for office for. But I do have to be an adult in this situation. My job is to protect [programs]....

Seesh, maybe I’ll learn to spell someday too.
Don’t count it out. bill ayers stated that the way to keeping political power is to isolate their opponants to camps in the southwest. American concentration camps for dissenters. Look it up.

If only the governator would explain things to Californians as you did to your relative...
Oh I know, I am aware of his statements on that matter. It is my belief that the Fourth Reich is occurring in this country right now, and it will be FAR WORSE than what occurred in Germany. Nazi-ism is the greatest expression of man’s desire to control other men, and this is what our government blatantly seeks. It’s lust for power and control knows no bounds whatsoever.
About the only area he can help is explaining the facts of life to the unions.
But, remember, we don't yet have a king in this country and neither does California. Just as the Senate and the Congress, at the federal level, are the only ones who can approve spending, so it goes at the state level.
The governor and the president cannot authorize a single penny of spending. Only the voters and the legislators.
The challenge is breaking the news to people and telling that it's nice rally ‘round the flagpole when your guy is in but if your guy isn't and he is not the problem, does really make sense to beat on him?
We need to more effectively focus on the legislative body and I still have not figured out to do that. It is very difficult, for instance, to villainize some 535 Senators and Congress people. I mean, who is the target, everyone?
Still we and the legislators have a spending problem. Theirs is born of job security, while ours is born of, well, if you will, a certain avarice at other peoples expense. Namely the top 30% and many of us are too dumb to figure out where the government is getting it's money i.e. looting us!
