(1) Keep all lines of communication to the House flooded with "no" to the Waxman cap & trade bill.
(2) Call you Senate offices and ask them to weigh in upon their delegation, asking them to vote no.
(3) call your governor's offices and ask them to also call their respective House member and vote "no."
Let's open up all fronts! And by all means, get all your friends involved.
We can win this.
Keep calling, emailing, faxing. Call the senators and ask them to intercede with their respective delegations. Same with the governors.
At some point this issue becomes too radioactive for them to vote yes...just like the flawed immigration bill as few years ago in the Senate.
Let's get going, Americans. Even if your member plans to vote for this, give ‘em an ear full. It counts.
the Dem Party will be marching itself over a cliff if it passes
While I agree with you, the onerous consequences of it passing demand that we voice our opinions now.
If they are dumb enough to pass it, we can use it to retake the majority.
However, I’d rather win the battle the first time than have to counterattack to drive them off the hill.
I called Rep. Inglis’ office in Spartanberg, SC and was told a firm NO vote. His line in washington must be swamped because I couldn’t get through.
I called Sen. Graham’s office and talked to one of his staff members. She informed me the Cap and Trade issue is in the House.(duh). I asked her what his stand will be when and if it reaches the Senate. She informed me he will wait until it reaches the Senate before commenting.
I told her, “so he’s taking the obama approach in saying he’s waiting to see how it plays out?”. She was still talking when I hung up.
I urge all South Carolinian’s to get get on the phone to Graham and press for an answer. 202-224-5972
They haven’t even read it!!! THE DEMS pushed it through for a vote—as they know this.
However, her web site says:
"In the 110th Congress, I was a cosponsor of the Safe Climate Act. This bill directs the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to promulgate: (1) targets for a 2% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions each year from 2010-2050; and (2) utilizing an emissions cap and trade system in order to meet those targets. It would also impose penalties for excess emissions."
Sure is a good thing we don't have some radical conservative like Graf representing us!
Good Ideas. Also call it HR2998 the FUEL TAX and RATION bill.
I would call my Congressman and urge him to vote no, but unfortunately, Ed Markey won’t take my phone calls.
I want this bill to go down like Monica Lewinsky
