At the time there were no long lasting pigments as you describe, and most people opted chemical depigmentation, which is irreversible. If you have ever met anyone with Vitiligo you wouldn’t be so cavalier. You look ridiculous literally half black and half white, and the pigmentation would need to match your EXACT skin tone.

My son has psoriasis which affects his hands, causes some discoloration. As a child he spent quite a bit of time trying to explain to people it wasn’t contagious. Kids can be cruel, you know. But, after seeing adults on this thread... so sad.
