[Updated at 3:15 p.m.: Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.]
There’s a silver lining to every cloud!
What about the fabulous Nat King Cole? He was certainly a crossover. The Ink Spots, Pearl Bailey, Eartha Kitt, Cab Calloway, Johnny Mathis, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Lena Horne, Sammy Davis Jr, the Dixie Hummingbirds, Brownie Terry and Sonny McGee, the inimitable Ray Charles, and so many rock'n'rollers -- Wilson Pickett, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, the Temptations, the Supremes, the Four Tops -- the list goes on and on of black entertainers who pre-dated MJ and who had vast white audiences. I came from somewhat "negro"-phobic parents, but managed to see most of the above acts -- live -- in my teens and twenties.
Yes, “authentic” conservatism on display once again!!!! Just like the left. Case closed@!!!
Is he still dead?
But could you do the Moon-walk? I could! (lol)
The Sun Times in the UK is reporting right now that Jackson was shot up with a hot shot of the pain killer Demerol by his Staff at the mansion earlier today. After the shot MJ’s breathing became slower and slower until it stopped according to the Staff who then called 911...
I think it’s pathetic. His “oddness” hurt people, too.
That was still before the plastic surgery days.
My girl learned the Thriler dance at camp this past spring.
You could say that about just about anyone who has lived on this earth.
No but dancing and writing lots of memorable music is a God Given talent. If you don’t approve of that much talent being given to someone like him take it up with God.
The biggest pop star in the world has died; millions of white fans are hysterical all over the globe; and Al has to play the race card? Is he out of his mind? Oh, wait...
I missed that one. My three year old grandson is visiting...my world has been Nickelodeon and Noggin.
When Stevie Ray Vaughn died, now THAT was a punch to the gut. He still had many years of great music left.
I found the funniest t shirt several years ago. It was announcing the Elvis tour 1990-1991. Instead of concert venues, it had sightings. “At a Burger King in Kalamazoo, Michigan” and on and on. Apparently Lisa and the estate put the stop to that.
Warning, black humor, no pun intended!
Prediction of what obi will say in his impending Emergency Entertainer Mourning Press Conference based upon inside information I received in a personal call from the First Teleprompter:
"In honor of our beloved Michael Jackson, I hereby am naming both the cap and tax, uh trade, bill and the health care destruction, uh reform, bill "The Michael Jackson Poisonous CO2 Prevention Bill" and the "The Michael Jackson Health Care Perfection Bill."
And I hereby ask all members of the House and Senate to pass these bills by proclamation immediately, before his body reaches room temperature. If we wait until he cools, we will never have this chance again.
We all know that if the health care plan had been in effect, Michael would still be with us. So let his death be not in vain.
I know some will question passing bills before anyone but Nancy Pelosi and President Emanuel knows what is in them, but don't worry. You can trust us to do the best for the country. Not necessarily OUR country, but nevertheless, we must pass them.
So, y'all, this here press conference is over, so Beat It!"
The press conference should be starting any minute.
Hey, look on the bright side: it got the other arrogant black guy off the front page. :-)
Jeff Goldblum didn’t die. Take a look at this:

I agree.
However, some would say Elvis. Depends on who you ask.
You mean I can’t worship Adam Lambert??? :-)
Hey, look on the bright side: it got the other arrogant black guy off the front page. :-)
