It’s more often referred to rectal cancer. It is not the same as colon cancer. My best friend is suffering through this cancer. It’s a more serious type of cancer. The cure rate is lower, the recurrence rate is higher.

I knew someone who had ‘skin cancer’ that happened to be in the person’s colon; they never called it ‘colon cancer’, so go figure.

What Is Anal Cancer? Anal cancer is a rare malignancy that starts in the anus -- the opening at the end of the rectum. The American Cancer Society estimates that just 5,070 new cases of anal cancer occurred last year in the U.S. and just 680 people in the U.S died from the disease.
A very rare form of cancer. My Christian Hair Stylist died from it.Compare that to Colon cancer? The difference is astounding!

Because they are two different things. My Brother-In-Law’s sister had anal cancer. It is pretty rare.
