Was he on a big public anti-marital-infidelity crusade I haven’t heard of? What does this have to do at all with his political beliefs?
Claiming conservative beliefs and position does indicate a person would not cheat on their spouse and would not take an oath made before God and man so lightly. If he can’t be honest to his spouse what makes you think he would be honest to the people he represents?
He's more libertarian on social issues outside of abortion, so this isn't Henry Hyde's youthful indescretion.
It's still a real bad screw-up, and until now, he was my first choice for 2012. I don't like this at all because it is a broken promise. If he wasn't married, more power to him. If he lied to his wife, what has he lied about to his constituents?
(sighs) Politics. I've seen a lot of good people fall into temptation and do bad things in this line of work. Firsthand.
