If a Republican candidate has to be scandal free, we will never have another Republican president. Reality is, the media will invent scandals.

What really needs to happen is the Republican party needs to not let the media define the debate, manipulate their primary process, and stand by their “man” in the face of non issues.

If there are really swing voters out there that wouldn’t vote for President Bush because of DWI in his youth, or Sarah Palin because “she is going to impose her values on us and force unwed mothers to marry like she did her daughter (I actually heard this one),” you get what you deserve.

dj and i had this discussion yesterday, i agree. rather than railing against freepers and potential voters for their REACTION to the story [OMG you stupid PAWNS OF THE MEDIA, etc] , how about holding accountable the politician that permitted the events to be used against him. fair or not, it’s LIFE, that perceptions will govern situations and he is being perceived as a flake or up to no good, because he wasn’t savvy enough to see how this could be used against him.
