Outspoken Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann says she's so worried that information from next year's national census will be abused that she will refuse to fill out anything more than the number of people in her household.
In an interview Wednesday morning with The Washington Times "America's Morning News," Mrs. Bachmann, Minnesota Republican, said the questions have become "very intricate, very personal" and she also fears ACORN, the community organizing group that came under fire for its voter registration efforts last year, will be part of the Census Bureau's door-to-door information collection efforts.

Shelly Lowe, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Census Bureau, said Mrs. Bachmann is "misreading" the law.

First when you hear a knock on the door and llok through the peephole and see it is somebody you do not know or recognize, ask who is it. When they say census, answer the door in the nude. (that also works with the folks who sell WATCH TOWER magazine) lol.
They mean that it didn’t used to be a prosecuting agency... It was recently moved under the White House umbrella...
And let’s not forget when, a few years ago, the census department inadvertently released ONLINE bunches of personal information complete with household addresses.
I can’t remember if the blunder involved hundreds or thousands of our households, but so much for their assurance and promise of secrecy!
Bachmann’s the real deal. She’s our Margaret Thatcher.
Nothing but number....and race. Let’s see, uh, fifteen sounds like a good number and all white. That should counter some of the ACORN numbers.
Wouldn’t the Sentencing Reform Act only apply to the census, since you are not legally required to answer the ACS anyway?
And is there any way the ACS would hold up in court?
Whoever, being over eighteen years of age, refuses or willfully neglects, when requested by the Secretary, or by any other authorized officer or employee of the Department of Commerce or bureau or agency thereof acting under the instructions of the Secretary or authorized officer, to answer,
Bammy IS NOT an authorized officer! He is NOT under the Department of Commerce OR the Secretary. Bammy decided HE would move the census to the White House without the approval of Congress.
BUT..... since the codes have NOT changed, Bammy and his ACORN nuts are not in compliance with the law, and NO ONE is obligated to knowingly participate in an illegal act.

GOP Threatens Legal Action Against Obama for Plan to Oversee 2010 Census
House Republican leaders said Thursday they're ready to go to court against President Obama if he doesn't scuttle his plan to move the census into the purview of the Oval Office, saying it's an unconstitutional abuse of power.
Like that will hold up with Obama and Co.
Right on. I am doing what Michelle is doing, they will get the number living in the house and that is it. FUBO and ACORN.

I’ve done that, too.
I like it...if you don’t mind, I will adopt the same, print it up, and mark the census accordingly with that declaration clipped to it.

It has only been posted about 3 or four times. Maybe not this same article. However, the more it is posted the better as far as I am concerned. The constitution says we only have to answer questions about how many people live at our residence. Any other laws passed which require more info are unconstitutional. You only have to answer the population questions. If you are terrified of not answering the other questions just lie. As for me, I am going to do as I have always done and only answer those questions required by the constitution and no others.
Now that’s a TICKET!
does anyone have a link to the questions that are asked?
