After being briefed today on President Obamas firing last week of Gerald Walpin, Inspector General of the Corporation for National and Community Service, Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said the president did not abide by the same law that he co-sponsored and she wrote about firing Inspectors General.
The White House has failed to follow the proper procedure in notifying Congress as to the removal of the Inspector General for the Corporation for National and Community Service, McCaskill said. The legislation which was passed last year requires that the president give a reason for the removal.

Be careful — she may be out front trying to pass this off as a mere procedural issue. Criticizing the 30 day time frame so as to avoid having to look at the motives for the firing . . . .
If that’s the case then she’s not as clever as she thinks (nor is the WH), she just opened up a real can of worms. Questions begging more questions. I don’t think Sotomayer’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearings should begin until this obvious illegal firing is credibly investigated.
The law? That’s for the little people, the ones eating the snap peas while Barack and Michelle dine on haute cuisine.
Did not abide by?...hmmmm...how about BROKE the law.
She seems shocked that Obama’s support for the law had an expiration date. Everything Obama promises or says has an expiration date. He is entirely untrustworthy.
didn’t Danny Kaye play this guy in a movie once?
Law!?! 0bama don't need no stinkin' law! 0bama IS the law!
The fact that 0bama is squatting in the White House and calling himself 'el Preseidente' is against the law. Foreigners are not allowed to be President!
glad this is picking up press time.
Welcome to New Kenay! (Africa U.S.A.)
Where the law of the jungle has replaced the Law of the Land! /sarcasm (sort of)
She’s not up until 2012. Interesting if she’s already looking for some separation.
the TOTUS gave a reason for removal he SEEMED to be unstable... move along now
Obama’s not expected to follow any other laws.
“Be careful she may be out front trying to pass this off as a mere procedural issue.”
Exactly! She’s using her experience as a former state auditor to help zero . . .
I can’t find a single article on Walpin-gate on cnn’s website. Am I just not searching right? Surely they can’t really ignore this.
“Did not abide by?...hmmmm...how about BROKE the law.”
This SOB has to go in 2012 and there is going to be A LOT to repair and reverse.
You really expect the communist news network to report anything critical of Hussein? The SRM won't report a single thing that makes him looks bad.
BTW, welcome to FR.
