Tell us what you have done for conservatism in the past month, Keyboard Commando.
Thank you for contacting the Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center regarding your feedback on the Late Show with David Letterman.
We believe one of the most effective ways to connect with customers and generate mass awareness of our products and services is through television advertising. The purchase of commercial time during television programming is not making a judgment on the specific content of the show but simply attempting to reach out to customers. Ford Motor Company values the opinions of our customers worldwide and will continue to place advertising on programs that reach and appeal to our diverse customer base.
We sincerely hope that we have clarified any concerns in this regard. We thank you for the time that you have taken to write us with your feedback.

We run that risk. That's why, IMO, we need to find another double-standard target and swamp them next. If we stay on message and move quickly to the next media scumbag then we can get some credibility in the public's eye and not be dismissed as a one-hit-wonder like the Imus protests were.
We need to keep in mind that the real target is the media double-standard and we need to keep increasing the pressure for the foreseeable future on every instance of it we can or the double-standard won't die.
The recent coarsening of public discourse in America has direct roots in Obamas middle-fingering of McCain and Hillary, not to mention his lipstick on a pig remark.
The Lettermans of the world think they need to out-Obama Obama.
Well put. We won't get it, but he knows he's unpopular with a segment of the US public. And the advertisers don't have as many dollars to spend these days--could be an advantage for us. Even the darkest cloud has a silver lining.

Actually, you nasty little nurse, I have written to CBS 10 times using different email addresses, and also contacted their advertisers which is going to do much more than 50 people standing outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre.
Now back off - I’m entitled to my opinion of the effectiveness of this without being personally attacked and called an idiot by anyone on this board.
I don’t think this is a PC issue. It is a basic decency issue. Unfortunately, Dave has outed himself as an old perv. And you’re right in a way he is irrelevant. But he crossed a line that no public (or private) person should cross, regardless of their politics, what is politically correct, or what the audience will swallow. I also wonder what is going to happen to the writer who came up with that joke and the producer and director who thought it was funny.
Manned up???????????
I suggest Bill Maher. Today I cancelled HBO and told AT&T that Maher’s Palin comments were the reason why.
Thank goodness — Hellman’s is the best mayonnaise.
The nappy headed gap toothed ho must go
“he manned up because hes already lost one major advertiser (Embassy Suites) and is probably in jepordy of losing others...”
Yup. During the campaign, Letterman kept saying he took McCain out because he failed to appear on the show and did a news interview instead. Maybe he’s finding out he doesn’t have the power he thought he did. He may have done more for Sarah Palin than anyone could have.
Go Sarah! lol
One week too late with a "weak" non apology about how his flawed joke was misinterpreted and so sorry if it(my joke) was misunderstood.
Ford will be going bankrupt soon, since they will not take any responsibility where they put ads...it’s too bad. My new car will not be a Ford.
Doesn't work like that. You can't call it "manning up" when he repeats the original offense in a smarmier fashion and then apologizes only after legal beagles and corporate honchos tell him the bottom line is suffering.
What Dave did is, umm... "Eddie Haskelling", that unctuous insincere groveling in the face of authority with his fingers crossed behind his back.
You just know that the little weasel mama's boy doesn't mean it, just wants to save his hind parts from a real tanning.
I'm just surprised he didn't use the Obama defense.
"Hey, it wasn't me. I don't write the stuff, I just read it off the teleprompter"
Good choice. We need a specific "joke" or comment so that we can focus specifically on the double-standard or over-the-line crassness and get enough people behind us to swamp his advertisers. If we can come up with that we got a plan.
Another way to do it is to watch carefully all the media for particularly blatant examples of double-standard and make a stink about it, whoever said it, here on FR. Then we can discuss and research the sponsors, etc. This approach works, too, and the FReepers can work together to swamp the offenders.
