Is Cincinna referring to another Frechman named "Nicholas Sarkozy" who is an actual conservative? That guy sounds pretty good! Too bad he nothing in common with the horny smirking leftist stooge who is actually running France. Reminds me of the Chicago Sun-Times writing editoral describing "George Ryan" as a "Pragmatic, honest, burly conservative" Governor.

CLAIM

"Nicolas Sarkozy is a true leader. A man of the Right who believes in and defends Liberty, Democracy, and Freedom. Sarko believes in calling a Spade a Spade, and denouncing the vote fraud and repression of women in Iran, and the evil leaders of Iran who want to destroy Israel, western culture."
--Cincinna

VS.

REALITY

Sarkozy met senior Muslim clerics and promised: "I will be at your side to defend your rights. I ask you to be at my side to carry out your duties. Even in the government, some are observing this fast (of Ramadan)…this shows that from the top to the bottom of our society Islam is an integral part of our country," Sarkozy told his hosts. Much as it might displease some of those I oppose, Islam is France. I haven't betrayed the commitment that I made to give all my backing to Islam in France"
-- Sarkozy, October 2, 2007

“Arabic Is the Language of the Future, of science and of modernity. It one of the oldest and most prestigious civilizations of the world. We must invest in the Arabic language (because) to teach it symbolizes a moment of exchange, of openness and of tolerance, (and it) brings with it one of the oldest and most prestigious civilizations of the world. It is in France that we have the greatest number of persons of Arabic and Muslim origin. Islam is the second religion of France"
-- Sarkozy, Jan. 19, 2009

"We are not seeking a clash between the East and West. The Mediterranean is where our common hopes were founded."
-- Sarkozy, Jan. 13, 2009

“The Islamization of Europe is Inescapable”
--Sarkozy, Jun 5, 2009

"I totally agree with what President Obama said, including on headscarves and veils"
-- Sarkozy said, June 8, 2009

About the only thing accurate in this post is that Sarko did take a break from his daily efforts to praise Islamo facists and assist the radical Muslim takeover of Europe, to pout about the Iranian government election theft. I see Gordon Brown denounced the obvious Iranian vote fraud too. What a guy!! By French standards, I guess Gordon Brown is a great conservative. Shall we "borrow" the Brit's failed leftist leader as well?

You certainly do have a grudge against Sarko. I didn’t even have to read down to the end of the post to know it was you.

While our wuss of a POTUS refuses to “meddle” in the stirrings of a true democracy movement in Iran, Sarko is out on the hustings loudly proclaiming solidarity with the Iranian people who seek freedom and democracy.

Sounds like Ronald Reagan to me, in his great statement standing with the Solidarity movement in Poland, as the Red military rolled in to crush it.

Thanks to Powerline Blog for that story.
