The so-called Mom, allowed her son to be out LATE AT NIGHT and unsupervised.

My kids do not go unsupervised for any reason. Deception is NOT AN OPTION with ME.

This criminal, is not a kid, nor is he not to be blamed for poor parenting. He is responsible for his actions and SO SHOULD HIS LEGAL CUSTODIAN.

Ask the Dad how his child support payments are being spent.

Hey, FRiend! I'm a parent myself, I'm not excusing this behavior, either his or his 'parents' (and I use the term loosely). I didn't let my daughter go out late at night either and she chafed under my thumb until she grew up and moved out.

Fact: Like it or not, he's 18, legally an adult, and I think the law is the law and he should sit in prison a long time for animal cruelty/murder.

Let's see if Mom or Dad post bail, that will speak volumes.
