US rejects victory claim by Iran's Ahmadinejad

The U.S. on Saturday refused to accept hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's claim of a landslide re-election victory in Iran and said it was looking into allegations of election fraud.

Any hopes by the Obama administration of gaining a result similar to Lebanon's recent election, won by a Western-backed moderate coalition, appeared to be in jeopardy.

"We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds in Iran, but we, like the rest of the world, are waiting and watching to see what the Iranian people decide," U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said at a news conference with Canada's foreign affairs minister, Lawrence Cannon.

Minutes after Clinton spoke, the White House released a two-sentence statement praising "the vigorous debate and enthusiasm that this election generated, particularly among young Iranians," but expressing concern about "reports of irregularities."

Our standing in the world has gone up since Obama became King of the World.

LaHaye is a trained psychologist; it certainly looks as though, all prophecy aside and even discounted, that he has identified and depicted a character type more accurately than he could even have imagined.

Agitating rioters and causing needless loss of life.

All so our own nutjob can save face.

” Reports of irregularities...”????

the Mullahs have constipation? THAT”S what this is about??

In the midst of Iranian unrest, CNN has obtained classified reports of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's movements:

Tuesday: Nothing.
Wednesday: Nothing.
Thursday: A little; some blood.

Hey! Even I can hope that Obama would like nothing better than to swing conservatives toward his side, if only the opportunity presented itself.

>>>If the mullahs can’t tamp down the resistance early the momentum may grow<<<

They have been able to shut down serious uprisings before so my hopes aren't high. However, I've been monitoring the Twitter sight and there are indications it is spreading to other major cities.

If it lasts until tomorrow, it will be very bloody. Rumors of 50 to 100 dead in Tehran as of a couple of hours ago.

He can't now negotiate with a President who he says won a fraudulent election without losing whatever face he has left.

You forget who you are talking about. Yesterday when he was claiming credit for Mousavi winning(which he thought was happening)he didn't name any names, he still looks stupid, maybe even more so because of it, because of the riots after his "meaningful debate" BS, but he can try to spin it.

Now, he hasn't said that he thinks there is fraud, his minions have.

He can claim they didn't speak for him and that he wasn't aware of that they were saying any such thing. This is what he always does. No one believes it but he can use it and then talk to Imanutjob with a straight face.

OTH, if the people over throw the Mullahs(which they probably won't)or put Mousavi in office(which probably won't happen)Bozo can then claim credit for saying the election was a fraud.

It is his standard operating procedure. He forgets though that the Mullahs and Imanutjob see right through him and they will be bad mouthing him for the next 3 years and however many frickin' days we are stuck with this POS.

Remember the one riot(forget what year) when they pulled out the gunships(helos) and shot the crap out of the citizens? They will do it again if they have to. It is hard to have a revolt if you are not armed, the principle reason we have a second amendment.

Axelrod will just ri-up some more astroturf and fabricate a new one. Democrat voters don’t know the difference. A fraud is easy to ‘remake’ since the fools who vote one in didn’t catch it the first time around.

"We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds in Iran, but we, like the rest of the world, are waiting and watching to see what the Iranian people decide," U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said...

Unfortunately, the Iranian people don't get to decide. The mullahs do, and they've apparently decided on Mr. Madman. As far as they're concerned, the rest of the world can go pound sand.

The mullahs could have returned President Soetro’s embrace by arranging for the A-man to win by a small majority...instead they have chosen to kick him where his stones would be if he were a real leader.

IMO, the reason Bozo and the boys(you notice though that Bozo is not actually saying anything)are irritated is he made his lame statement yesterday thinking Mousavi was going to win and now he looks like the total conceited POS he really is and they are trying to salvage that.

Oh, goody. Thanks for bringing that up.

I'm saying this because today I noticed an unusually large number of people wearing the color green (and it wasn't even St. Patrick's Day). I couldn't figure it out until I realized green is Mousavi's campaign color. The people who were wearing it, shall I be so bold as to say, didn't look like the sort who would ordinarily show such robust interest in Iranian elections.

Just an observation from my BO-voter-rich neighborhood.

Since the 0bama’s own government has called the Iranian election a sham, 0bama needs to convey that personally, and announced, contrary to his earlier promises of engagement, that he will not talk with the Ahmadinejad regime because it is illegitmate. He should then demand from Iran to meet with the duly elected leader, Mousavi.

Ahmadinejad’s ACORN out performed Obama’s ACORN.

I guess the Iranians were not impressed by Obama’s imagined brilliance or obvious bullshit...

Afterall - there is little doubt the Iranians are a lot smarter than Obama’s political base...
