Depends on how you define "redneck." If you mean a joe average guy who works as a plumber/semi-driver/mechanic who just happens to drive a pickup and speak with a slight drawal, than that is NOT what I mean. I mean tatooed, proudly ignorant and against "learnin'" and "sophistication," with daughters who get tatooed and get drunk while singing proudly along with "redneck girl" at the local gin mill. There are alot of the former in this country (thankfully) and (unfortunately) alot of the latter as well.
The fact is that glamorizing prole/lumpenprole culture, which was once the province of the left, is not a good thing. The key to a GOP victory is to reach those suburbanites who have been abandoning the GOP in droves due to incompetance and reputation as a rural party, but who are turned off by Obama's economic leftism. In short: If Sarah runs as Minnie Pearl, she loses.

Now, don't say that Minnie Pearl was a member of the Lumpenproletariat.
Sarah Cannon's character was country, but she was good, wholesome and upright. I don't think Minnie would have ever darkened the door of a county line bar, let alone get drunk OR tattooed.
There are an awful lot of decent country people out there. They've become a little too sophisticated to wear two-dollar hats, but they are basically the same as they always were.

Suburbanite daughters get drunk, tattooed and screwed at the same rate as “rednecks” or the “lumpenprole”. Remember that stupid suburbanites voted Obama into office, to feel good.
Sarah will run as Sarah, if she’s smart. This is her strong suit.
The press won’t give up savaging her, no matter what. Don’t forget the Sinatra/Nancy Davis stories, but have you seen any Chappiquiddick stories of late?

I agree with everything you said except: “Red Neck Woman” is a really catchy tune. It’s very hard not to sing along with it and Sarah is no Minnie Pearl.
