Letterman voted into NOW Hall of Shame: After two nights of "jokes" at the expense of Palin and her family, Letterman tried to explain himself and offer something of an apology. On his June 10 show, Letterman said he was referring to Palin's 18-year-old daughter, Bristol -- not the 14-year-old daughter who actually accompanied Palin on her New York trip. Letterman said "I recognize that these are ugly" jokes. NOW agrees. Comedians in search of a laugh should really know better than to snicker about men having sex with teenage girls (or young women) less than half their age.
The sexualization of girls and women in the media is reaching new lows these days -- it is exploitative and has a negative effect on how all women and girls are perceived and how they view themselves. Letterman also joked about what he called Palin's "slutty flight attendant look" -- yet another example of how the media love to focus on a woman politician's appearance, especially as it relates to her sexual appeal to men. Someone of Letterman's stature, who appears on what used to be known as "the Tiffany Network" (CBS), should be above wallowing in the juvenile, sexist mud that other comedians and broadcasters seem to prefer.

Before we place a commercial nationally on network television, the program in which the advertising will appear is previewed by a screening service. However, pre-screening program content is not possible on cable since advertisers must buy blocks of time, rather than buy time on a specific program. And, the scheduling of programs often changes, or is not decided far enough in advance. Consequently, we try to associate ourselves with cable networks whose reputations closely align with McDonald's corporate values. Regardless of our efforts, I'm sorry you were disappointed by our advertising during this program.

they are trying so hard to “get with the program”...pathetic group!
Now, if they would coem out against Planned Parenthood for tolerating incest and molesting of minor girls...oh, well, this hits Letterman.
You are right. I just can’t stand them, but you are right.
This all goes deeper then Letterman’s stupidity.
I now realized why the author Michael Savage said in his book that Liberalism is a mental disorder; it is because;
1) they lost touch with reality - where they cannot tell the difference between humor and tastless-dirty-old-man (Lettterman) sex talk; they can’t seem to connect what is said in the media and the effects it has on society. It is sad.
2) they lost their ability to reason logically (where they are not able to identify bias talk).....where liberals can criticize conservatist, but when conservatist criticize liberal politicians or celebrities, they see it as racism or bigotry
3) Liberals have lost touch with history: most don’t know that it was a republican president who freed the slaves (Lincoln); it is the democratic party who jave destroyed the self esteem of blacks by creating welfare-slavery; it is the democratic party who has had 3 KKK members in their party (one is still there); it was radical muslims who did 911; terrorists are people who hate liberals nore then anything...yet, liberal politicians want to protect them; finally, Martin Lurther KIng was a republican, who lived by conservative principles of believign in God, being good parents, workign for your money, etc.
4) Liberals cannot handle the demands of life, so they hand their lives over to government by supporting government healthcare knowing that the government fails at every program they run; by letting the government teach their 5 year olds about sex and gay life style, when these are the jobs of parents.
5) Liberals cannot win political debates because the facts are not on their side; so they resort to name calling, screaming, cursing and drinking the cool-aid provided by liberla politicians. Due to their mental illness, Liberals cannot hold intelligent discussions abased on facts and logical analysis. This is what has led to such ignorant voting. I am a hispanic, but I would not automatically vote for a minority person just because they are minority. No! They must give me the right reasons for giving them my vote. Also....they will not get my vote, just because I disliked the previous guy. That is plain stupid.
How have some people acquire this illness? By letting politicians and liberal organizations think and speak for them. Think about it......how is it that people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson talk so much about helping the poor...yet, they both fly private jets and live in beuatiful homes paid by donations from the very poor people. That is sad. Also....how is it that Rev. Wright preaches so bad about white people, yet he now lives in a rich white community? Paid for by donations from poor people. Very sad.
